Piccolo Buco Roma - set mere steps from Rome's famed Trevi Fountain - is where Cooper's Hawk Founder, Tim McEnery, first discovered Chef Luca Issa and his wonderful pizza. We love piccolo but they really need to work on the whole issue with reservations. EVERY time we have come we are always seated well over 20 mjn after our reservation time. It’s getting really frustrating especially when you make plans after dinner. the pizza was a little under cooked. This was the first time that has happen so probably just an off night. Our server Robbie was wonderful.

We had a reservation and were early (party of 2). They said we’d have to wait for a few minutes, which was fine. Immediately after a party of 2, no reservations, walked in. They were seated immediately. So I asked why they would seat those 2 ahead of people with reservations who were early. She started to argue with me rather than say, “oh, I’m sorry, let me seat you immediately.” There were plenty of tables for 2. Then we waited a long amount of time for a waiter. Finally had to flag the hostess again. Service was horrible. And you’d think they would comp us a drink or something for our troubles but nothing. Good was OK but not great. Won’t be returning. Go to Antico Posto instead.

We needed a spot equidistant between Lake Forest/Geneva. So, we gave it a shot based on lunch experiences at Cooper's Hawk. Super crowded at 6 on a Sunday night but no wait for table. Service was excellent, food was marginal, and prices were reasonable. However, no need to return.

Second time there and it did not disappoint. We’re Cooper’s Hawk members and really enjoy this restaurant. Had the arancini, chopped salad and spicy pepperoni pizza. So good. Their reserva wine and Chianti are both excellent as well. We will be back.

First time trying the pasta fagioli soup. Very very good! Had the chianti which paired well the soup and the pappardelle with short rib bolognese. Noisier than usual with holiday shoppers, but not intolerable.
