What does Emporio mean? It’s market where you can get a variety of things you need. Today in small villages in Italy, the Emporio is the center of life. Villagers visit the Emporio daily to socialize, share local happenings, and get their local fresh goods, cheese, pasta, sandwiches, and bread.

Passione is bringing a little piece of Italian small village life to you, here in Berkley. Our mission at Passione Emporio is to create a neighborhood restaurant that has the same feel of community and quality as old village Emporios. We source only the best local ingredients and craft them with traditional Italian recipes to make delicious food, with vegan options, along with an authentic array of Italian and locally sourced food and wine.

Our rotating wine bar offers a selection of Italian, Californian and European wines and beers with Prosecco at the center of the list to accompany Italian salami and cheese plates during happy hour.

Made a last minute booking for 815 when they close at 9. We were the last diners, with one other table for two. The server was gracious and kind and never made us feel hurried. The food is great as ever and I find the prices very fair for the whole quality of experience. But really do want to call out our server for being an absolute gem!! Makes me want to come back here for both special occasions and just because.

The food here is consistently great. Always fresh and well executed. I love the octopus and the mussels but all their pasta dishes are great too. Fabrizio does an excellent job!

Incredible salads and pasta dishes. The salmon filet was overdone and not as noteworthy as the salads and pasta dishes, but solid enough. The gelato was amazing and the chocolate cake was super rich and delicious. Bravo chefs!!

Hidden gem! The pizza was some of the best I’ve had in a while! Great wine selections not found in many places. Wish we lived in the area as we’d be there weekly

Eggplant was very over cooked so super mushy. Our waiter forgot everything. We had to ask for everything at least 4 times which gets a bit old and we feel bad to keep asking.
