Parkside is a locally owned and operated Downtown Raleigh Restaurant located at the entrance of the Warehouse District. Parkside is situated on the corner of West Martin and South Dawson streets across from historic Nash Square. It was this urban park, one of the four original parks in downtown that inspired the name Parkside.

Housed at street level and under the longest running neon restaurant sign in North Carolina you will find our doors, which have been the threshold to hospitality for this neighborhood for over one hundred years. Parkside believes in continuing this tradition in every way. From the warm red brick and reclaimed barn wood clad bar to the NC solid poplar tabletops, we want our guests to feel welcome. Whether you are sampling one of our 25+ beers on tap or enjoying our chef inspired locally sourced fare, your experience is our priority.

                                                                                            The food is just above adequate honestly. I wish I could give a Christmas gift dressed as a wonderful review but sadly, the restaurant is just that, kind of sad and nothing above average. Except for the mashed potatoes..those were slightly above average as they oddly resembled instant potatoes but had potato skins in them which threw me. I was confused as to why they were kind of delicious?? We ordered a side of mac & cheese also because it had been mentioned in reviews and honestly, it was gritty as if it was mac & cheese made with a cheese powder. I wouldn’t recommend it. However the meatloaf was yummy mostly due to the gravy it was topped with. The service was truly barely friendly but we understood because our server was working on Christmas Eve. Overall, I would never choose to return here for a memorable meal.

                                                                                            Our waitress was great but they were on a wait when we got there, so got a drink at bar. Bartenders hardly greeted us and very slow with drinks.

                                                                                            Let me start by saying the waiter was not at fault but seemed to have a lot of tables. We had to wait for our silverware to eat our food. I ordered the short rib poached eggs Benedict that were hard boiled and dry. I was not too happy with it and even showed the waiter who said would tell the manager but the manager never came to the table. Disappointing first time experience maybe my last time we will see.

                                                                                            Place was empty on a Sunday night, no big deal. It was dark (!!) as in only one light bulb over one booth (not the one we were seated at) to light up the entire back area. Where there were otherwise zero customers. Waitress, who seemed completely out of it, or maybe just over it, said to ignore the specials board as they never got around to it. She took forever, had to repeat every order, disappeared for extended periods, food took forever. Then, she shorted me on my change. Which, as if a decent tip wasn’t already in jeopardy, that sealed the deal. Super disappointed. Food wasn’t bad but everything else was pretty terrible.
