Reserve our intimate wine room for dinner with up to 6 ppl. The wine room is a special place, but it is kept COLD to maintain temperature (~60 deg) for our wines, and our staff may enter throughout the night to retrieve bottles. Please notify your guests of the temperature so they are comfortable, as it may not be possible to change tables at the last minute. (An extra cozy layer will do the trick!) This was my second experience at Osteria Mattone. The first one was remarkable. I was excited to share with my friends. Most of the ladies had never experienced this restaurant before and unfortunately the experience left most of them feeling they probably won't be back. The service was very poor. I don't think the server smiled once the entire experience. She always seemed like any request we had was inconvenient. She also was resistant to inquire about fulfilling a simple request for dinner (spaghetti with a side of cheese was denied). The evening sun was baring down on our faces the whole time which made the seating a bit uncomfortable. They made an attempt to shut some blinds but none of them impacted our table at all. The food was good but the cake we ordered was very dry and not finished. We celebrated one birthday and were given a card with names signed on it. That was nice but a small piece of cake for her birthday would have been more appreciated. While the dinner meal was good, I was overall disappointed with my experience especially the table service. The nicest person we encountered during the evening was the Valet, Henry. He was friendly and patient.

Shannan, our server, was superb and saved the evening for us. My chicken piccata was inedible. The fried seafood appetizer was overdone and unappealing. It was my first experience and I was so disappointed as I was looking forward to taking my friend to dinner for her birthday. However, we did have seven old fashions that were superb!

The food was really poor quality The branzino was extremely spiced . We order 2 in the table and was impossible to eat. Someone else ordered caccio e pepe pasta, and was totally flavorless. I ordered pasta bolognese and isn’t was bad, but nothing that you could not find in an standard cheap pasta place. The service was excellent. The place is beautiful, but I wouldn’t recommend the place for the food. Maybe for some drinks outdoor would be good , excuse the place is very nice.
