Ospi is the sophomore restaurant of Jackson & Melissa Kalb, focused on Southern Italian cooking and way of life. The name derives from ospitante (“host” in Italian), with the expectation that guests will feel as comfortable at Ospi as they would at a friend’s dinner party. There will be plenty of house-made pastas as well as an expanded offering of pizzas. The beverage program crafted by Kalb features mostly Californian and Southern Italian wines and a full bar with a special negroni section. At Ospi, the pizza is inspired by the techniques of Antico Forno Roscioli which Jackson and Melissa frequented while visiting Rome. Focusing on Romana Tonda-style crusts that are cracker-thin, he is adapting a recipe that he feels will resonate with the LA diner. Jackson feels it extremely important to not take food too seriously. Take a trip to Southern Italy and be a guest in our home.

The food was delicious, and the staff was very friendly. We went for Sunday brunch, and there were only a few people. Definitely coming back for dinner!

The food was mediocre, the kale salad was amazing though. The place is nice and our server was amazing but we had a reservation and waited 45 minutes to be seated.

Overall solid food. It’s a big and noisy place. If the weather allows for it, try to sit outside if you’re trying to have a conversation. The Kale is good but overpriced. Meatballs are good too as well as the spicy rigatoni

We went during HH and it’s a steal. 3 items for $30. The portions are small but the food is good. You have to get the kale salad. Same ownership as Jame in El Segundo which I love

Very stressed out staff, felt like we were bothering our waiter. He wasn’t rude but he made it feel like he was far superior to us. Food is great but the stressed out vibe does not really make it worth it.

Excellent food and ambience. The white truffle pasta was excellent. I would suggest this as a shared dish. The cauliflower was simply the best I have eaten. Fish and meat dishes were of the highest standard. Our server, Jessica, was particularly attentive. This restaurant is unique in many ways but be aware that it is rather expensive!

Every member of staff from the moment you check in with Natalie, to Grace, Stephen and Marlise at the bar and every other team member working for Donald are super friendly and will go out of their way to make sure you always have an awesome time. The food and drink is all top notch and the atmosphere is great. There’s nothing not to love!

My husband and I are regulars at Ospi’s sister property Jame in El Segundo. For a change, we thought we would try Ospi. We were both blown away not just by the quality of the food, but by the hospitality we received from the moment we entered the restaurant. Every staff member we encountered from the hostess, to the food runner, to the bartender, to the manager who came to check on how our evening was going, greeted us with a warm welcome and an upbeat attitude. We received the kind of genuine service that is not often seen in restaurants anymore.
