The food was delicious. I have a complaint about service. When booking this restaurant through the open table I noted that this dinner will be special for my husband's birthday. And then I mentioned it several times to the service guy. No reaction. We used to have at least completing words at other restaurants, here is nothing. Plus, the guy didn't introduce himself, didn't introduce the routine work of the place so I need to ask myself about salad bar, which dishes are traditional and most popular. And this is really upset cause the place is very interesting.

Not good, plain non flavored steaks. Best thing was the salad bar. Been coming here since 1990 and it was always good. This time Not Good. I don't know if they changed chefs or what, but we won't be going back based on this bad experience.

Everything was great, except for one thing. Our dinner party (4 ) arrived at 5 pm ( reservation made two weeks prior) when the restaurant opened. We were escorted to our table that was in a dark corner next to the kitchen. As we looked around to an empty restaurant at this early time, we asked the hostess if we could change the table. With great resistance, the hostess checked with the front desk, and we were told there was only one other table in the entire restaurant that we could move to. After being moved ( to a slightly better location), we were told that ALL the other tables were specially booked, and there were no other options. As we looked around in a room that was still empty, we were all in disbelief. Our waitress was wonderful, the service was great and the food was delicious, the table location was not so great. If we had arrived later and the restaurant were full and we were seated in that dark corner next to the kitchen, I would not have a reason to complain. I get it, the restaurant was full. However, in our case, that was not the case. For some reason, the hostess at the front was not willing to accommodate. For those looking to make a reservation, I would suggest that you know a table number apparently and book a specific table because this large restaurant with many many table get booked by specific table number. Go figure.

Hands down favorite restaurant in Steamboat. We ski once a year and never miss at dinner at the Ore.Last night we had elk, bison, chicken, an array of apps and their signature pie dessert. The bread and salad bar are such a nice touch and well stocked with great options. Server was excellent and informative. We thoroughly enjoyed our last night in the Boat at our fav restaurant! Even saw a fox running through the snow right outside our table window. See you next year Ore House!

Excellent server and service. No issues there. Steaks are lacking flavor for the price.

Food is good but for the price they do things like store bought rolls which seems inappropriate given the price.

During our visit yesterday, my wife and I indulged in a delightful culinary experience at this restaurant. The menu offered a wide array of delectable options, and our food arrived warm and tender. While my New York strip lacked a bit of salt, the overall taste was simply irresistible. To complement our meal, we opted for a bottle of wine, which was expertly paired with our dishes. Our waitress was attentive and always checked on us to ensure our satisfaction. However, the standout feature of this restaurant was their salad bar, which was an absolute delight. Every ingredient was fresh and bursting with flavor, making it a must-try for anyone visiting. We couldn’t resist the temptation to return solely for the incredible salad bar.
