   First experience with Old Thousand. It was the best Chinese food I've had in many years. A gem of a restaurant with servers who care and are very knowledgeable ! The food is exceptional as well. Definitely a keeper!

   We loved our previous visits to this restaurant. This time, however, the service was slow and not great. Our meals took > 30 minutes, and one of our party was finished with his meal before the rest of the order arrived. We barely saw our server. She did not check in at all during the protracted wait for our food. We made a reservation, and were seated near the door with the cold air hitting us every time someone entered or left the restaurant. It was disappointing, because we had praised this place so much and the expectations did not match reality.

   Old Thousand is an ATX must. The food is outstanding, the service is great, and it’s in a great room, designed by someone with imagination. Loved it.

   My boyfriend and I always love the food here. Music is random but fun and the staff is always nice. New Years Eve they were giving complimentary glasses of Rose 🍷 Reservations are recommended as the restaurant frequently fills up.

   First time eating here and it did not disappoint. We enjoyed the orange chicken and veggie fried rice and egg rolls. The jalapeño popper appetizer was a little on the spicy side.
