   They took $300 hold on our credit card to ensure we would arrive less than 15 minutes after the reservation. This made it all the more frustrating when we were stuck in a long queue at the valet parking. We shouldn't have been concerned because even though they charge $50 a person to make the reservation the table was nowhere near ready when we arrived. 15 minutes later we were seated in another 30 minutes later the drinks started to arrive. A noisy place due to the active bar scene nevertheless the service was decent.. particularly out server, Amanda. My partner's tuna which was ordered medium-well arrived being purple and bloody. It had to be returned. A grouper entree with a miniscule piece of lobster meat and two lonesome gnocchi nevertheless tasted well. In all fairness to the restaurant they've been only open for 1 month. One would hope that their reservation issues are resolved particularly their need to extract $50 a person to make a reservation and then not have a table available at the time the customer arrives. Sitting on the line that stretch forever for the valet we kept thinking that they would take the $300 deposit that we were forced to give. This is not a place for an elegant refined dinner (but perhaps an outdoor table might have been a better choice to modulate the frenetic noise). Prices are at least 20% above any other restaurants Sarasota. For example six oysters at $33 seems out of line. Knowing what you are getting in to will take some of the surprises from this experience. Although priced at the elegant level this is not by any means elegant dining.

   The food, experience, staff, and ambience was excellent. My husband and I had a wonderful time, we felt very welcomed and were treated as if we were the only ones there, but the place was full. Neil, our waiter, was superb as was the rest of the staff. Can’t wait to go back.

   This was a wonderful dining experience. Sat outside on covered and heated upstairs patio and was perfectly comfortable on a chilly 40f evening. Service was impeccable and Kristian B our waiter added to our enjoyment of the evening. Started with cocktails and Tuna Tartare - so delicious-would go back just for that. Perfectly cooked medium rare filet with blue cheese crust and fresh grouper with lobster gnocchi in a light lemon sauce were divine. Couldn't have had a better experience for our first night dining in Sarasota.

   Sarasota’s Ocean prime was without a doubt worth the wait, from the congenial reception to the server and staff. The experience and the room are exceptional. One of the best Hamachi Crudo I have had and the steak was cooked perfectly. John our waiter was very professional and as a seasoned diner I will say that Ocean Prime delivers value. When in Sarasota make certain you visit. You will not be disappointed. Well done Ocean Prime!

   Our food was excellent and our server had expert knowledge of the entire menu. Highly recommend for special occasions. We loved our experience and meal.

   Bar seating is a little nosier then other seating, but more action. Outside dining is also more quite.

    Have always been a huge Ocean Prime fan. It was delicious however, we found the lobster bisque to be lacking in sherry flavor and was quite spicy. We prefer bisque to not to be spicy. The sea bass was superb as well as the butter cake. Great service! Valet was very timely. Wonderful fine dining overall. We will return soon!
