   Food is not worth the price and they overcharged us for 2 sparkling waters even though we only ordered 1. I didn’t argue it and still tipped 20% but the bill came out to $200 and it just wasn’t worth it. Also, I booked seating in the wine cellar and apparently that is only open on weekends. That should have been made known to me at the time of booking. Anyway, there are plenty of other Italian restaurants in NB that are infinitely better. Don’t waste your time or money.

   Food took forever. They didn’t clear appetizer plates before bringing out two of the six entrees. I think the built in 20% tip is a deterrent to good service. Other four entrees came out so late we all ended up eating at different times. Certainly not the same Northbeach Restaurant. Waste of time and good money.

   We have celebrated special days at North Beach Restaurant for over 50 years. Last night we enjoyed our 56th anniversary and met the new owner Francesco and their charming hostess Crystal Rose. This is a historical room in North Beach and it has been decorated beautifully under the new ownership and management. The food and experience was extraordinary. We started with Caprese special appetizer - mozzarella buffalo, heirloom tomatoes, and basil. We had this in Italy and North Beach's offering rivals the Italian one. I always liked the minestrone soup at the old restaurant. Now they have a Ribollita soup that rivals the original. My wife enjoyed a pear gorgonzola salad that was beautiful. Entrees were Osso Buco for me (wonderful) and branzino for my wife (the best she has ever had). In summary we highly recommend this restaurant for an extraordinary dining experience - great food, friendly and perfectly timed service, and a unique atmosphere that creates an experience you'll never forget.

   The owner has a warm welcome when greeting us at the door and the staff is always friendly and professional. The service is flawless. The menu is brief, not 3 pages of choices and descriptions, and every dish is done to perfection.

    Not worth it - better service and Italian food in north beach. I was very excited to try this restaurant. However, that all changed from the second that we walked in. We gave our name to the host stand and they said they were getting the table ready for us. We waited 15 minutes and went back up to the host stand to ask if they could check on the reservation. They said that they had nothing available in the dining room but plenty in the wine cellar. I said well we booked our reservation for the wine cellar please get us seated. Left a bad taste in our mouths. We finally got our table, and it took some time for water to be poured and drink orders to be filled. There also is no music downstairs in the wine cellar so it was a bunch of quiet conversations with the tables of people who were there. Our waiter was fun and brought good energy, but did not check up on the table much and took a while in between courses to ask if we’d like to order anything else. We finally got our food and it was good. Nothing exceptional, but yummy. The drinks were very excellent. When it was time to get the check, we gave the waiter our card and it took 30 minutes for him to run it and bring it back to us. At that point, we were the only people left in the wine cellar just waiting for our check. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be coming back here and don’t think I will recommend any others to.
