Luxury takes root in the heart of Austin at Nido, bringing the charm of the area together with the culinary techniques of coastal Europe, all perched above Lady Bird Lake and the energetic cityscape.

Nido is located on the rooftop of The Loren at Lady Bird Lake - recently named by Conde Nast Traveller and Travel & Leisure Magazine as "one of the hottest hotel openings in the world." Nido nods to the surrounding and native Hill Country, giving diners a one-of-a-kind respite to experience worldly-travel through food. Nido’s selection of carefully crafted, seasonal menus are internationally-inspired with a focus on classical technique.

Reservations are available for inside the dining room and the dining tables in the bar. Lounge seating is available on a walk in basis in the bar and on the terrace for drinks and snacks.

The view of downtown Austin from Nido is spectacular! It is so enjoyable - day or evening. This was our 3rd time to Nido, so we understood the concept and basic menu. It was incredibly disappointing that a hotel restaurant cannot make a burger for late night (10-11 pm) dining. Do they offer room service and no burger? Ok, I will get over this one. The flatbread Antipasta was so small (maybe 4-5" diameter), it was barely shareable. A $55 short rib dinner had 1 rib. Value, no. View, yes. Go for drinks and small appetizers then eat elsewhere.

Fantastic meal from starters to mains. The Razor Clams were so good we ordered it a second time. The Crystal Blue Prawns were very tasty as was the Octopus Carpaccio. We finished with the Lamb Ragu, which was outstanding. Service (KQ) and Sommelier (Nick) were attentive and friendly. Trenton in the bar area was great as well. We will be back when in town.

Such a great experience! This was our first time in for my boyfriend’s birthday. The drinks were delicious. We also got the flatbread, brussel sprouts and halibut. Views were 10/10. Our server was the sweetest and even brought us out a blanket. We will most definitely be back.

Had a wonderful dinner with friends. We had a very good sampling of the menu. Everything was great. The portion size seems small, but I left perfectly sated. The Halibut and Pork-chop were the entree stars.

Booked this restaurant for my bday and wanted to get something fancy since I do this once a year! Everything seemed so perfect at the start…fancy hotel, elevator up to the restaurant and beautiful views of the city. Once we got there we were greeted with someone telling us why we were there and if we were celebrating something? I assumed open-table would say something about it being my bday but I guess not. We were seated in a booth and we were greeted by a server named Nick I believe. He’s first response was not like “welcome and happy bday or thank you for joining us” but was instead like “you guys have 10 min or less to get something before the kitchen closes”. We rushed to look at the menu and was a bit disappointed, we were hoping for some steak or something fancy but the menu didn’t have those options. It was fairly small and limited almost like a bar menu. We ordered some appetizers to start, oysters! The oysters came out first and they looked fresh but came without anything to dip it in (we are used to having oysters with some spicy marinara sauce and horseradish but they said they don’t have that). When we started to look for the main course the waiter came back and kept telling us that we have to order something else now or the kitchen will close and kept repeating it to us. I felt like we were unwanted and said we were ok with just the oysters and he said “that fine, makes my job easier”. He then said do you want your free dessert now or to go? Like I didn’t even have a main course cause I felt like I wasn’t wanted (almost like as if you’re a guy wearing normal clothes entering a luxury dealership). I wish opentable didn’t provide the times for my reservation if it was going to be like “why are you here? We are almost closing, get out”. The waiter went on to treat the other table with older folks with good service while I was ashamed I had booked this place. The Hispanic busser was kinder to us and was more concerned about our situation.

Service was disappointing - we had multiple waiters asking us the same question multiple times. They should start working with zones. We were handed desert menus and without anyone asking us if we wanted a dessert, the check was presented. These are just a few weird mistakes made this night.
