   Was definitely looking for a great vibe plus fantastic food. Monarca was unique and just what we were looking for. We will certainly go back and with intention to get tickets for the dj show later!

   The most not only amazing Mexican food in town, up there with the most amazing all food in town. The pork belly is UNREAL!!!

   My girlfriends and I booked a 6pm reservation online. The online booking said there was 2 hour max stay, not unusual in Vancouver anymore, that’s fine. One of friends arrived at 5:55 and the rest of arrived at 6:10. It took the server 15 minutes to come get a drink order from us, however he was very nice. We had 2 drinks each and ate our dinner which was fine. They cleared our dinner plates at 7:30ish, and we sat with mostly empty drinks waiting to order again. Instead the server came back at 7:45 and said we had to leave as they have a big party coming in for 8 (even though we had a 2 hour like that ended at 8). He promptly brought us our bills and the machine with him and stood waiting. We paid uncomfortably. Not long after the manager, I assume, came over at 7:55 and said we really have to leave because they need our table. He then took our leftover chips & guac (which we paid for) without asking if we were done and thanked us. The whole experience lacked care, basic customer service and hospitality. This restaurant obviously suffers from poor time management and has very little grace when dealing with guests. We would have spent more money had we not felt rushed. Overall it was not a good experience. I wouldn’t recommend spending your money here!

   Love the food and ambience here unfortunately we had a server who felt the need to remind us every half hour that we needed to leave within 2 hrs. But then drinks took 20 mins to arrive each time. We probably would have bought more food but felt very unwelcome.

   Absolutely the worst experience we have had in Vancouver in 5 years, I cannot imagine how they stay in business. Definitely will not be back and also make other diners aware on other platforms how bad this place is.

   We had a wonderful time at Monarca’s Restaurant .The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. To make our experience even more special, they surprised us with free drinks to celebrate my husband’s birthday. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made the evening even more memorable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and a warm atmosphere.

    Rude staff, overly loud, and obnoxious atmosphere. It feels like they’re trying to emulate Bagatelle but seem confused about their identity. The food was terrible, and the tequila selection was disappointing for a Mexican restaurant. While the music was good, they need to decide if they’re aiming to be a club or a restaurant. We were seated at a terrible high-top table near the bathroom and kitchen, even though I had reserved a proper table for a date. The food quality was underwhelming, and the music was so loud it felt like a club—at 7 PM! We’re young and love a good party, but this was excessive and completely out of place. Not coming back.
