    I chose to go to Modavie for NYE 2024, based on several reviews that indicated it would be good. The service was decent but the food was extremely overpriced and subpar quality ($140 prix fixe menu). The four courses included a weak lobster bisque, about $2 worth of arugula and dressing, three bites of scallops, underwhelming filet mignon and bland chocolate cake. Our party of five left $1000 poorer for the disappointing experience. On top of this, we were seated next to the live band which was appallingly loud (not the fault of the band but the restaurant should have chosen different music or recalibrated their sound system) and left my ears ringing. I waited with bated breath for the band to take a break so I could speak with the other people in my party without having to shout. Would not do again, it’s a tourist price gouge.

    Beautiful ambiance with a great staff. The staff were superb. Our table was next to a Window. This was the perfect setting for our date. We ate very well as we watched life pass by at the old port.

    Sam, bartender at the “back” bar, was entertaining, knowledgeable & prompt without ever making anyone feel rushed. A must visit when we are in Montreal. Food always beautifully presented and palate perfect. Music adds, not detracts from atmosphere

    Plates are delicious and reasonably priced. Live music blues , jazz adds to the memorable dining experience. Table server Tyler and crew are excellent.

    Our family of five had a wonderful dinner. We started with a lovely bottle of wine, salad, and onion soup. Our dinners were delicious, especially the seafood linguine and lamb pasta. The desserts were delectable, my favorite was the lava cake. We also sampled the chocolate mousse, crème brûlée, and sorbet. Our server, Patrice, made the evening even better. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun to chat with. The other servers were also pleasant. Our first visit was terrific, and we hope to return again.
