Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Mito - Babylon offers a stunning setting with a "beautiful old bank conversion" and "great vibes." The menu boasts "outstanding" food, especially their diverse Asian cuisine. While service can be inconsistent, the ambiance and reasonable pricing make it a promising spot. The "dim sum sampler" and "Peking Duck" are highly recommended.

Lovely restaurant we’ve been to multiple times. It is fairly empty so I hope they’re doing okay but it makes for a nice quiet evening if you’re looking for that. Sushi is delicious as are the hot dishes. No complaints!

Extremely disappointed with our visit to Mito. Had such high-hopes. Went for a 65th birthday celebration and requested a nice quiet table location which they provided, but that's all the went right. Amanda our server was virtually perfect but should have forewarned us of the cost of drinks and portion served. We first ordered drinks. My girlfriend a glass of wine and me, a whiskey neat. The wine had a price but the whiskey didn't so I figured between $20-$35 for a neat pour. Then we ordered the Dim Sum sampler for $18 which wasn't too bad. 4 different dim sum (2 ea) that were ok but nothing spectacular. For dinner, she ordered the Mongolian grill with shrimp, $26 + $4 for the shrimp, which was actually a good value because it came with 10 shrimp and a small bowl of rice. I ordered the Chilean sea bass with tomato compote and sautéed spinach ($45). When the meal came, my mouth dropped open at the size of my portion. The portion of spinach and the 3 pieces of fish I got were the size of a half dollar. It wasn't even 1 piece of fish, it was 3 tiny pieces FOR $45, and the tomato compote was 3 grape tomatoes that were stewed and plated ice cold, along with the cold spinach. The fish was warm but not hot. I was virtually done with my meal before my girlfriend placed her dish on top of her rice. In my 66 years of life, I have never been that disappointed with a meal nor ripped off so royally. If you've ever read some of my other reviews, you'll know I'm generous with compliments. Also, while other patrons were being serenaded with birthday wishes from the wait staff, nothing ever came of our wishes or complementary dessert, which I really didn't care about. Then to add insult to injury, the bill came. $181.00+ without tip. I NEARLY FELL OFF MY CHAIR. The whiskey was $65 for the 1.5 oz pour. I could have bought a really nice bottle of bourbon for that price. It's the first time I ever left a restaurant hungrier than I went in. Don't go.

The food was terrible. I was afraid to eat the sushi. It did not look fresh. I felt bad for the staff they were working the bar and waiting tables. It’s a great nice place but they have to get better food quality.

It was very bad. Nothing was hot food wise they had only a few items on the menu for valentine’s Day they booked everyone for 730 I didn’t sit until 815 drink at 845 apps were out at 915 returned both my starter and main meal because it was cold wanted the only desert on the menu and then they told me they were out then the waitress said ok we’re going to take ur meal off the bill and I was happy for that then she came back after 10 mins and said oh they aren’t taking it off your bill. I was beyond frustrated because I’ve been in the industry for 15+ years and that’s t how you handle that situation.

I made a valentines reservation for me and my wife that included a $58 per person dinner Buffett for that night. Once we arrived we were told that they only had a valentines prefix 4 course menu which was $88 per person and that they didn’t know what i was talking about when i showed them my original reservation buffet menu price. The hostess told me that they don’t do the buffeteven though the reservation i made through open table says that this Mito restaurant was offering a $58 buffet menu for $58pp for valentines dinner. I did not want to ruin our night so i decided to accept the only menu being forced to us which was the prefix $88pp dinner and we were taken to our table. I have to admit the restaurant itself was very clean and ambience was very romantic. We were also told that our dinner would include champagne which we never got even though we asked about it 2 times and were told that they would bring it to our table but never came. The food was delicious but was not overall happy with the portion sizes. Another issue we had was that once they took our drink orders and meals the waiters never came back to ask if we would like to refill our drinks not even once. By the time we were finished with our food and tired of waiting for any extra drinks we had to wait more than 30min for the check. Our whole valentines dinner experience here was absolutely disappointing to the point that the portions they gave us for food was so small that we ended up going to McDonald’s afterwards because we were so hungry. We will definitely not be coming back here ever again.

This restaurant was woefully disappointing, given its location and the quality of the establishments it replaced. The service was dreadful (waited 45 minutes for a drink order the server finally said they couldn't make, then 10 more to brink a drink -- but my wife was served hers in 10 minutes), the food was awful. It wanted to be fusion, but was just unimaginative and poorly prepared, and of course overpriced. Definitely not worth it. Walk past to Kotobuki for quality sushi.
