   I wanted to treat my family to a nice dinner at a Black owned restaurant for MLK Day and we found Ms. Toya’s online. We made reservations for 3pm and parked around the corner in a garage. It was a very convenient 3-5 minute walk away. The hostess greeted us and we were seated within ten minutes of our arrival. Our server, Natalie, was friendly and pretty attentive. Our party of four ordered several appetizers and all were delicious. Deviled eggs plain and with shrimp, spinach dip w/crabmeat, crab claws, and 2 orders of bayou rolls. Very tasty! Our entrees were crab cake sandwich, French toast brunch, chicken and waffles, and the bayou pasta. Everyone enjoyed their meals but I will note that the crab cake sandwich came out with the wrong toppings initially and my eggs needed to be cooked more. Not a big deal really but the sandwich took a while because it needed to be remade. Our server gave us a dessert to make up for the mix up with the sandwich, and that was appreciated. Loved the music and ambiance at the restaurant, and we will return. Overall, we really enjoyed the vibe, the meal, and the service. Value was pretty good but the appetizers were on the expensive side based on the portions we received. Entrees were appropriately priced. A 20% gratuity was automatically added to our bill and it came to just under $300. We did not drink alcohol.

   Excellent! One of my favorite restaurants! If you like New Orleans type food, this may be the best in the DMV! My party came for the gumbo (made with saffron in it) which wasn’t served until later. So I had to try a new dish and found out the fish and grits was also delicious. Back soon for their signature gumbo with some charbroiled oysters to start! Laissez bontemps roulez!

   The customer service was top tier. The food was not very pleasant. The presentation was great but some of the food was raw/undercooked. The service did an excellent job is addressing the issue. The service was great but the food needed work.

   The food was AMAZING in all things! Quality, portions, taste! The staff was very friendly and helped with recommendations. Service was suburb.

   The food was very good and flavorful. We had the fried green tomatoes, gumbo, and the grilled chicken. Along with the fried chicken wings. Everything tasted good! The service we received from the waitress was poor. We had to flag her down to get refills on beverages , asking for the check, and boxes. We notice she was on her phone using her earbuds, she was not attentive at all.

   We enjoyed the food and the vibe. Background music was great and staff was attentive. Very nice experience.

   Our overall experience was not the best. Our party of 2 had reserved a table, and we were greeted and seated upon arrival. After that, we waited close to 20 minutes before our drink order was taken.(We were talking that made the time fly.) Our waitress took our drink order. Then, I did not come back for a while. Another waitress brought our drinks over. Placed our order one person meal came 10 minutes before the other order.( awkward) No one came to check on us or inform us of the status. No refills were given. Another group was seated next to us and experienced the same issue. We had to stop a staff member of the staff to ask for a refill and check. The meal was good, but the lack of timely service took away from the outing. We were not in a rush. There was no massive crowd when we arrived, and our I orders were not complicated.

    We had a great time celebrating hubbies birthday. We ordered the charbroil oysters and fried green tomato's for starters and it was so good. For dinner we had fish and grits, lamp chips and jambalaya everything was good the jambalaya could have use a tad more seasoning but it was good. Our server was felicia who was bomb🔥 we really enjoyed.
