We’re passionate about our food & drink at The Minster Inn and serve the best in craft beers and spirits, accompanied with hand stretched, stone baked pizza.
The setting is a traditional Edwardian Ale House with the original layout and many original features all sympathetically refurbished. You can also spend time in our popular Ale Yard with friends or find a quiet corner with a book and a pint.
We're situated on the ancient street of Marygate next to the Abbey Walls, a fantastic setting only 5 minutes walk from the Minster and a few hundred yards from the Museum Gardens and the river Ouse.

This visit was for a relaxed birthday lunch for me, accompanied by my wife. The pizzas were fabulous and the service was first-class. The staff were empathetic and great communicators. We will definitely be going back!

We had lunch and the pizzas were great- they were a bit busy so the food took over an hour so the kids went a bit mental! But all good once it was done.

Great to be able to book a table and therefore know we'll get a seat during the busy Christmas period. Good sized table ready a few mins after arrival. Very friendly service. Tasty pizza, prepared fairly quickly. Been before and will return again.
