The award-winning Min Jiang restaurant continues to expand its footprint with the opening of Min Jiang at Dempsey. Set amidst the luscious greens of Dempsey Hill, this is the second independent restaurant that Goodwood Park Hotel fully manages off site. Housed in a 5,000 square foot black and white one-storey colonial building with a main dining area, 3 private dining rooms, a timber decked alfresco for outdoor dining and a cosy bar, there will be ample space for 110 guests. It is also a lovely venue choice for couples who wish to hold their wedding in a unique location. Celebrated architect and interior designer, Ernesto Bedmar, has cleverly chosen elements of gold, yellow and green for a hint of glamour, combining it with clean, minimalistic lines to achieve a perfect blend of oriental charm and modern style. Sleek marbled surfaces, plush seating and contemporary furnishings reflect a refined sophistication for a luxuriously comfortable dining experience.

Great ambience and fabulous food. Good variety of vegetarian on the menu. Would have loved more dimsum selection although it was dinner.

Ambience was “cafeteria-esque” (tile floors and bare tables), yet lighting was exquisite. Fairly good service if a little rushed between courses. Prices are as expected of a Michelin Star restaurant. The roast duck, as other diners have noted, is on the fatty side, that is, the fat is not adequately rendered, so that it was like eating fat with some incidental skin, rather than eating crispy duck skin.

Excellent food but poor service. Do no eat outside because of noise from next door restaurant exhaust system. Should not charge extra for additional pancake. Limited choice of desert

This restaurant only serves you if you fit their racial profile. We were left completely unattended for a long time whilst our server attended to the next table . After finally taking our order it took her a further 20 mins to let us know one item wasn’t available . I had to physically go up to her at the next table to tell her what l wanted to order instead and she still did nothing with the information so l signalled to another server to take my replacement order . Service continued to remain appalling and they served the rice and noodles but the main dish ( sweet and sour pork) took 1hr 15 mins to come despite me continually asking a passing server if they could check on our order. By the time the main dish came my children we so hungry and the rice and noodles were cold - extremely disappointing. I asked to speak to the manager to be told she was busy . She did finally come to our table with my bill to apologise and thank me for the feedback but honestly could not care less. The food and service does not justify the high prices at all . If on service alone - I would rate them zero stars . Will not go back there it’s nothing at all like the Goodwood Park Ming Jiang - l wouldn’t even guess the restaurants were connected . Seriously appalling service , they really don’t care about their customers unless they are local . May want to give this one a miss !!
