Established in 1987, Meson Don Felipe was the first Tapas Bar in London and we are still an independent, family-run business. You can expect great tapas and some amazing, well-priced Spanish wines, served in an authentic, relaxed atmosphere.
We have an outside terrace with heaters and umbrellas but of course, we can't promise the weather! If you book outside we can't guarantee a table inside if the weather changes.
For those unable to eat-in, we offer our famous Paellas for takeaway at lunchtime Monday-Friday.

We are halfway along The Cut, the busy thoroughfare that links Waterloo Road to Blackfriars Road, just five minutes walk from Waterloo main line and Northern line underground stations (Take Old Vic exit from Waterloo Station). Been many times before.Quite busy for a Monday evening.New look menu ( though courses are broadly the same ) and mostly new staff who didn’t have the charisma of the previous team.No longer serve the 500ml carafe of the house table wine which was very good value although the choice wine menu is comprehensive and the glass of Temprillo/ Syrah which I chose was superlative.My wife and I were satiated with 4 bowls of excellent tapas dishes.

Meson don Felipe used to be much better. much more choice in the old days like a proper tapas bar. It is still a nice place to go but very expensive now - bread £4.75 ! a bowl of bottled olives £5 the excuse that everything has gone up is wearing thin. The only thing that is going up is their profit. Wages have not increased that much , nor have rates. The expense of food now is pure greed. Especially as the quality has gone down. Many more people are now eating elsewhere or at home. That is why the place was half empty. A great shame as i used to love this place.

We arrived slightly early the staff were really welcoming and made space for us at the bar we had drinks then taken to our table. The food was great and the waiter advised us on the amount of food for our group it was spot on the right amount of dishes and we did not over order. Extra friends joined towards the end of the evening we had further drink and did not feel rushed to leave. An absolutely fantastic evening wonderful team of staff. We will be back. Highly recommended Thank you

Meson Don Felipe is one of my all time favourite restaurants in South London; fantastically varied menu, food quality is superb and the service is great. Waiters are friendly and very helpful. The only negative is the high level of noise, although last time I dined there with friends it was not too bad. I’m even prepared to forgive them for high noise level.

I used to visit more than 20 years ago but haven’t been for a few years and was delighted it was as good as I remember - sadly no guitarist these days. Great selection of Sherry and wine, super food - baby squid was exceptional. Staff super friendly!!

Second time I have been to this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. Such authentic food, flavours and service. Always rather noisy but it adds to the ambience as it’s bustling and fast paced but everyone leaves with a smile and a satisfied full belly. Highly recommend and I will return with more people to convert to Spanish tapas!
