   I had a very poor experience at Meokja Meokja yesterday. I made a reservation for 7pm and arrived on time, thinking I would be able to be seated right away. When I checked in, the hostess let me know we had to wait another 30 minutes for a table. When I questioned her on why, she claimed that making reservations does not guarantee you a table right away — instead, it puts you at the top of the waitlist (they called it a “call ahead”), and you still have to wait. Even though we were told that we were at the top of the waitlist, we saw 4 parties being seated ahead of us. This was incredibly infuriating! To make things worse, this policy is not noted anywhere on their website/Yelp page or Opentable, which I find misleading. I was also very disappointed with the doenjang-jjigae that came out with our food. There was barely anything in the stew to eat. Overall, the rest of the food was okay (although expensive), but my experience was soured by the poor service upon walk in. I wish I had the chance to speak to the manager about all of this before leaving. Beware!!!!!

   I have been to Meokja Meokja multiple times and they are consistently delicious with great service. Today, we had an exceptional server who was attentive and friendly. The quality is consistently great with the meat tasting fresh and high quality. The sides are also very good and enjoyable.

   Had a friends reunion here, we loved the prime beef selection and the quality of the meats was amazing. Not all you can eat, but filling none the less and great bon Chan (sides) get the ribs (all of the cuts) and the brisket, excellent quality

   Have to say this was a great recommendation and will go back at some point. Glad there was a bit extra fundage in my pocket this weekend because for my friend and me it was just above $100 (tip included), so will have to go another time when there’s more money in the bank 😂, but definitely worth it. The Galbi was really good (that’s saying a lot for someone who’s very squeamish about meat) and so was the brisket. Have to say I definitely liked the corn cheese and angry eggs (steamed egg), which must say is better than other places I’ve gone. Did not feel rushed or anything and server was nice, these are a plus point for me. So recommend? Totally! Also would maybe do a call ahead as noted in their informational section if you plan to go and make sure all people in the party are present as will definitely ask.
