Eight years ago, Maximo Bistrot started as a restaurant for the thinking and execution of dishes from a wide range of techniques with the best of local ingredients; a warmful place that communicated our love for food. After a long and heartwarming road at our current location, we thought for the need of moving. Our new home, located at Alvaro Obregon 65 bis - a much wider space where gleams of natural light shine upon the surface-, is carefully assembled by Gabriela's meticulous look, and a kitchen built within Eduardo García's early memories, while living as an inmigrant in a barn in Ohio. Despite this big change, our principles initially founded remain the same: to offer food that distinguishes the best of local products.

    Went as a solo diner. Service was a bit slow but I wasn’t bothered about it just an FYI. The food was amazing and wanted to try everything on the menu.

    Tenía años que no visitaba el lugar, para el Art Week decidí ir después de visitar algunas exposiciones y no tenía reserva. Y, en un restaurante casi vacío eso no debía ser un problema. Sin embargo, la mujer de la recepción se atrevió a decirme que no podía darme una mesa. Le hablé a mi asistente e inmediatamente reservó en OpenTable. Le dije que tenía una reserva, pero peor aún, que quería hablar con el gerente, y nunca se apareció. Ya adentro, la verdad es que me estaba muriendo de hambre, y como los platillos pueden tardar algo de tiempo en la preparación, lo que menos tiempo tomaba era una ensalada y la hamburguesa que me ha aparecido en mil reviews de Instagram. La ensalada de queso, pues no tenía queso. La hamburguesa de Wagyu, pues no sabría decir si es de Wagyu, porque se les ocurrió ponerle tanta mayonesa que al final tuve que comer la hamburguesa con cubiertos, porque la carne se resbalaba y salía del pan. El sabor no era el de una gran hamburguesa. Asumo que la gente hace review de la hamburguesa porque es lo más barato en la carta. Pero no regresaria, el servicio es simplemente muy malo, al final terminas sirviendote todo tu, que por que no pueden manipular los platillos, WTF!!!

    Maximo is hands down my favorite restaurant in Mexico City. The food is consistently spectacular, the service outstanding and the decor both contemporary and warm. I cannot recommend Maximo highly enough!!!

    Today was busy, the restaurant is packed. We were running a little late and the communication with the restaurant is easy. They are on the dot with communications, so grateful. Busy busy but the standard of the food and services is top notch. I really enjoy that the restaurant keep such high standard. Value for money !!
