The food was exceptional but service pretty slow given the restaurant was far from full.

To start with, we booked a reservation with the Maverick on 10/25 for a belated anniversary dinner. We made this notation on the reservation, and they went above and beyond to make the evening special for me and my love. That in and of itself would make us loyal customers. It's rare to see people who obviously enjoy what they do and strive to make others lives better when they enter their sphere of excellence. Our server, Jadyn, was fantastic; she was warm and funny while still maintaining excellent professionalism and knowledge of the menu. The food was fantastic; we ordered a bread basket with whipped butter and escargot de Provence for appetizers, and both were fabulous, the bread warm, toasty, and very flavorful. The escargot was herbaceous and excellently seasoned in its garlic/parsley butter, topped with a perfectly crisp truffled puff pastry right on top. It made for a wonderful bite with a great mouthfeel. My main course was the pan-seared duck breast, which was paired with a port wine gastrique, roasted grapes, and served with some crispy onions and a small astringent salad. The flavors were all on point, and they contrasted and complemented each other very well. The duck was excellently seasoned and perfectly cooked to a nice medium rare while still having very crispy skin. The sauce pairing was tart and sweet and layered the natural game of the duck very well. The onions were a great addition to the mix for an extra crisp texture and a subtle addition to the flavor. The astringent salad was arugula, a lite dressing, and some savory cheese. I think it was gorgonzola. But it was fantastic as a finisher to cleanse the palate. We finished with the truffled gnocchi, and God was it good, creamy with a perfect earthiness and funk from the truffle. Finally, the drinks were wonderful and obviously made with care and attention. My love had the Bonne Chance, which was a gingery and boozy wonder, while I had a wonderful Scotch Sour. The entire evening was perfect.

One of my favorite restaurant in SA I selected for my birthday. I ordered the Pork Confit which is usually delectable. A bit on the dry side this time but still delicious. One guest ordered a burger w/ no sauce for health reasons. Unfortunately, it had sauce. The mgr was quick to order another burger. Overall, I had an enjoyable experience. Our server was informative, attentive and welcoming.

First and for most…ambiance and service AMAZING! We had a great, attentive waiter. I have been here before and loved my drink so I returned for restaurant week. They were out of the soup and wouldn’t allow a side salad or a different soup for substitution so we had to get the smoked trout. We also ordered the herbed stuffed chicken. There was nothing stuffed about it at all. It was literally a piece of grilled chicken. The vegetable orzo was ice cold I actually put it in the waiters hand and he said he’d personally talk with the kitchen. He did offer to see if they could remake it, at this point our reservation was for 7:15 and it was already 8:47 by time we received our entrees. Neither my friend nor I cared to wait even longer and we both had sitters waiting at home as it was a mom’s night out. We were very disappointed to have to give this review as we both were looking forward to actually dining here.

Consistently good service and delicious food. Setting is always welcoming and elegant. Weekends get crowded so specify where you want to sit several days in advance if you want to sit in the main dining room.

We ordered escargots for appetizer, and a trout and a schnitzel for main courses. Escargot is awesome! Trout is great, albeit a little salty. Schnitzel is crispy, and the portion is huge. Overall the food quality is very good, and we enjoyed our dinner.

Wonderful spot for an impromptu brunch! Parking is limited so be prepared to walk; for my girlies looking for an Instagram post-worthy backdrop, tote your heels in your bag until you walk through the door. Service was great and the hostess/server made sure to read my note and accommodated my request. The menu is intentional; I had the Southtown Frenchy. I questioned the au jus as it was a little more cloudy than a normal au jus to which the chef sent an explanation out that they incorporated emulsified veal fat into the mixture which resulted in a thicker sauce. Love it. If you’re beer/whisky fan looking for a spot with complementary entrées, this is a reliable spot in Southtown.
