   This was my first time at Mastro’s and I’m a little disappointed. I came for my birthday dinner & the food was just ok;wedge salad was not your typical wedge (just cut up lettuce w/toppings ) chicken not seasoned well, very dry (no juice, no seasoning) The mac & cheese was very bland. The brussel sprouts were actually pretty good we added glaze sauce to them and they tasted much better. The lemon drops were watered down . My server Patrick was great though.

   The ambiance is very nice and lively. Food was good, and we really liked the grilled pork chop, but the lobster was a bit chewy. For the price we paid, I expected it to be cooked perfectly.

   So sad, this was my favorite restaurant in Chicago. It’s completely lost the plot. Food is average. No ambience, so expensive for what you get. I mean $60 for 3 scollops is just not right. Served was lovely. Also agreed the place had fallen. Much better options if you want a steak in Chicago…….

   We arrived to our table and CC greeted us with a smile and made some great recommendations. We ordered bread service and scallop appetizer to start out. The scallops were top notch! 3 for $60 was a little steep. My wife ordered a nice glass of Malbec and I ordered a pour of Mitchers bourbon. Great choices! Then we decided to order the dry aged 23oz bone in ribeye and Brussel sprouts. The ribeye was cooked beautifully and the sprouts were good. Then it was time for dessert! O Boy was the butter cake something! Cake that melted in my mouth! Very good. Directly from the website Mastro's enforces a strict upscale dress code. We do not allow beachwear, gym attire including sweatpants, sweatshirts or hoodies. Athletic apparel, jerseys, hats, beanies, bandanas, ball caps, oversized or baggy clothing, tank tops, and sleeveless shirts are prohibited. No excessively revealing clothing will be allowed. Clothing emitting offensive odors is not permitted to be worn anywhere on the property. Admittance to Mastro’s is at the discretion of management who reserves the right to refuse service to patrons who are inappropriately dressed regardless of reservation status. My overall opinion of the attire of other patrons was that of club clothing not upscale. The man next to ours was wearing a ball cap, torn up jeans, T shirt, hoodie and tennis shoes. Several ladies were scantily clad. Certainly not ‘UPSCALE’ attire. Thanks for a good meal but not great! Service was Outstanding!

   It was my first time at Mastro’s and it was definitely a 10/10. It was my boyfriend 30th birthday and he had a great time as well. The food was excellent our server was great it was overall a good experience and I will definitely be back.

   Amazing time as always. This is my go to restaurant daily for self care “ME TIME” and hosting friends, clients and family. Always. Quality service and amazing quality meals. Top tier!!!!

   Outstanding evening with my staff at Mastro’s Steakhouse in Chicago. It was our privilege to once again be cared for by the most excellent June. Her professional guidance and warm service was second to none….and the dinner was voila’! The perfectly prepared appetizers featuring their charred octopus and seafood tower are not be missed. , much less the excellent sides and of course, our entrees were flawless!     food was not what we were expecting. not sure what mastro’s is known for, might be steak but we did not get a steak. sides were good but main entrees were not.
