    We just visited Mastro Steak Beverly Hills 3 days ago and had a nice meal with a great waiter even though the restaurant was packed, loud and busy. We came back on 26 December to a much quieter restaurant and reserved an outdoor table. We were very happy with the table and ambience until the waiter came in with a poor attitude, didn’t make us feel welcome and made a big deal about vaping which we had no intention of doing and then a security guard came to tell us the same thing then the water came back and didn’t make it better. We left. Explained to the hostess the situation. The manager spoke to us and said sorry have the Peninsula hotel send us a message with a complaint.. we are guests at the Peninsula with half a dozen rooms staying for 6 to 12 months. Thank you.

    Our reservation was for 6:30 pm. We arrived at 6:20. We were seated around 6:45. We ordered cocktails and received them at 7:32. We ordered bone marrow, lobster bisque, and salads for starters. Those arrived at 8:22pm. 7 minutes later they brought our entrees, realized we were still having soup and took the entrees away. The entrees and sides had to be remade. The entrees came back AGAIN at 9pm. When we received our steaks, two of the temperature cooks were swapped. Halfway through my dad and I realized we were given each others steaks and I have an allergy that needed to be taken into consideration. There were people that were seated after us that received food. There were people seated after us that were completely finished with their meal before us. This was the worst dining experience I have ever had in my life. I am a patient person as my husband works in the service industry and my grandmother was a server. This entire experience was inexcusable. I will be hard pressed to go back here.

    Awesome Christmas dinner. We loved the service from our waitress. The ambiance was great along with the food including a seafood tower. As always, the butter cake is a great way to finish the meal!

    I have been a regular there on Christmas Eve for many years and I didn't like being seated in the room on the first floor behind the bar. It had the Vibe of an overflow facility. Also, prices have gotten out of hand!

    We go to mastros every Christmas Eve and the only issue we have is the awful choice of music the live performer plays. It’s Christmas Eve so it would be nice if they only played Christmas music. Hearing her sing awful renditions of pop songs makes us rethink about going back next Christmas Eve even though we love the food and tradition of going.

    The fish was mushy, definitely not fresh fish, our waiter forgot one of our meals, the service wasn’t great, you’re paying for the name! Definitely will NEVER return.
