   Make sure your waiter reads the order back to you because they messed up my order charged me $240 rather than $75 for an item and didn’t want to correct the error. I was given 50% off on the $240 and told I would also get the butter cake for free since it was a birthday and it was supposed to be free but then ended up being charged for it anyway. The manager also said they would comp one of our martinis since it took a solid 40 minutes to come out and we had to remind them twice about it just to finally get it. At the end they never did take the martini off the bill, they gave the $16 credit for the cake and only took half off the wrong item. We paid our $349 check and left. We were left feeling so-so about the experience. Not sure what happened but customer service used to be better than this in the days of yesteryear.    First, they sat us at a table on the bar next to the piano player that was very loud. They moved us to the main dining room and we thanked them very much. There were 5 of us for dinner and 3 of us ordered steaks. Two of the steaks had to be sent back because they were completely raw. Not 5 minutes later the manager brings back the New York strip and a pice of filet. The New York was still raw and the filet they brought back had the silver thing in it you cannot cut through. They took the New York back again and at this point, the rest of us were done with our dinners. The third time they brought it back, it was medium and not medium rare as ordered. The manager said it would be taken off the bill however, nothing was taken off of the bill. I felt bad for the server as none of this was his fault and he was great.

   Mastros’s restaurant is one of our fav places in Scottsdale. Always amazing service (even at the holidays) and delicious menu choices. Highly recommend!!

   We dined outside on Thanksgiving this year. There were 6 of us. We ordered multiple steaks of varying cuts and temperatures. 1 of the four was cooked correctly. Lamb chops, Kansas City strip (bone in), and bone in ribeye all cooked medium well to well done when asked for medium rare. In fact, the one was taken back by the server, who was fantastic, as she noticed it was way over don. A new steak was brought out after 15+ mins with the manager and the sever asking to have us cut into it. Much to their demise it again was, cooked well done. Needless to say it was disappointing. To the mangers credit we were comped numerous items, as it was obviously not their fault. I am hopeful the chef was having a bad day or it was a fill in. We have eaten many times before and this was the first subpar experience we’ve had.

   Unfortunately the service was not up the standards of the past by a long shot. The support service was great and the food excellent, however the server was untimely and forgot us more than once. We may go again in the future, however this is the type of experience that may keep us from going. Scottsdale has enough options to go elsewhere.

    We loved everything from the service to the delicious appetizers, salads and entrees. The butterscotch cake is legendary! Second time here and will definitely come again! Thank you!
