Sungchul Shim, chef and owner of the Michelin star restaurant Kochi opens his second Michelin star restaurant Mari in Hell's Kitchen. At Mari (roll in Korean), Sung offers a tasting menu of street-food inspired Korean hand rolls, complemented by an extensive wine list and a selection of Korean spirits like soju and chungju.

Mari is offering a $145 per person seasonal tasting menu (along with a beverage pairing for $110) that explores the many facets of Korean cuisine through small plates and inventive hand rolls.

Due to the nature of our tasting menu, we are unable to accommodate vegetarian/vegan diets, gluten-free diets (if soy is not okay to consume), rice-free diets, allergies to fish, allium, sesame seeds/oil, and aversion to raw seafood. If you have any questions regarding food restrictions, please contact us before making a reservation.

    My boyfriend and I went upon a recommendation from a friend and it was absolutely outstanding. The tasting menu unfolds with delicious bites, artfully presented, one right after another. The service was impeccable - friendly, focused, seamless, and attentive, but not at all obtrusive. Initially we were concerned that it wasn’t going to be enough food, but on the contrary, we left completely stuffed. Sadly, for me, there was perhaps one course too many as I couldn’t even finish dessert, which was one of the best parts! It was pricey for me (coming from the suburbs of Chicago), but on par with midtown manhattan and worth every penny. I highly recommend!!!

    Excellent service. Whole staff is knowledgeable and attentive. Food is delicious with beautiful presentation. Highly recommend sitting at the counter to watch the food preparation. If I get the chance, I will absolutely return.

    One of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Chef Shim’s creations are absolutely exquisite in every way, from the beautifully balanced flavors to the gorgeous presentations. For what it’s worth, this is not the kind of tasting menu that will leave you hungry afterwards - in my opinion, it is worth every penny in every regard. The service is gracious and attentive, thanks to the wonderful staff who ensure that everything is run to the highest standard. The restaurant is sleek but also cozy enough for an intimate dinner where you can actually carry on a conversation while you’re enjoying an incredible dining experience.

    Elizabeth our Waiter was amazing at accommodating our requests. Service is 20 out of 10 at this place and the food is top level! Definitely Michelin star deserving

    One of the most amazing meals of my life. Worth every penny. Fresh and unique bites and so much food - definitely go hungry! Service was also fantastic and bartenders, waiters, and chefs were all friendly and attentive.
