Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Manhattan Beach Post delights with its "amazing food" and "excellent service," making it a must-visit spot for special occasions and brunch. The shared plates, especially the biscuits and scallops, are crowd favorites. While the vibrant atmosphere adds to the charm, it can get "very loud," challenging conversation.

They were out of several dishes and one came cold, but the service was wonderful and made up for it. It may have just been an off-day

Consistently outstanding. We hadn’t been in several years as we’d moved out of state. So many things aren’t what they used to be. Lots of restaurants go thru changes and it shows in food and/or service. Happy to say Chef David has seen to it that the cuisine is as good and better than I remember. Five stars.

Handcut fries were great. The cheddar bacon biscuits have been and still are very tasty. Ora king salmon entree was excellent. Skirt steak was good but the chimichurri was a little strong.... It's much louder after the remodel. Also, table right by the glass door/window is colddd.... Had to put my jacket back on. The draft coming through was a cold one.... November 2024. Amanda our server was great. Scoop of eggnog ice cream, caramel, pecans was excellent.

Good to bad: The mushroom toast is excellent, but you need to like piquillo peppers (tastes like sun dried tomatoes, I love them!). The small Chef's Feasting Board is not a feast, there is barely anything on it. The roasted cauliflower florets were way too spicy. There is a tendency at stylish restaurants these days to make things overly spicy, especially vegetables. It is not necessary. Vegetables can taste great and interesting without burning your mouth. The restaurant was loud, if you like that. The ambience was nice, but it seemed a bit tight. You will overhear your neighbors conversation. "Lively" is the right description.

We ate here for Thanksgiving dinner and it was perfect. Atmosphere was festive, food was delicious and just the right amount, and of course we had the famous biscuits which were to die for. Will definitely come back and experience the fantastic service and food again.

Went there for the Prix Fixe Thanksgiving day menu. First the optional pairings went well with the options. However servers and expo had trouble keeping straight the order. 2nd never got the bread course....as soon as we ordered got incorrect wine and then amuse and correct wine in rapid succession. Fizzy wine was served in a universal glass, so the effervescence disappeared quickly. In the Turkey main option the roast carrots were overly large and under done making it difficult to eat. It seemed the service was overly rushed sould have gotten drink orders then after amuse gotten the other options for service and let the meal flow
