   This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. They advertised a romantic dinner for two on NYE, there was nothing romantic about it. It’s like a step up from Red Lobster, but the meal at Red Lobster would have probably been better. We ordered a salad, after waiting a very long time, my husband went to ask the waiter where it was, suddenly appeared our salad and main course. The sea bass was not hot and swimming in congealed butter, that went back. I then ordered shrimp with grits, not the best, grits were swimming in cheese sauce, looked more like soup, most of the shrimp was way overcooked. My husband had the jambalaya, but that too was average . Truly one of the worst meals we’ve had. The manager was very responsive and accommodating to the situation, which was appreciated, but we will not be back.

   This review is specifically for their 2025 New Year's Eve special. I had the sea bass and my wife had the ribeye. The ribeye was topped with a red wine reduction that was too sweet. It didn't pair well with the steak. The steak itself contained more fat and gristle than a ribeye should. The sea bass on the other hand was outstanding though a smallish portion. Their garden salads are wonderful with carrots, grape tomatoes and shredded cheese. The green are actually green and not like other restaurant's white lettuce. And I just love their blue cheese dressing. All in all a wonderful meal for NYE.

   Always a great time at Mallards Shakopee. Food was excellent and our waitress was friendly and good at her job. Prices are reasonable and well worth it.

   Great food and service! I had the sea bass and it was superb. My bf had the surf and turf and said it was the best.

   What a phenomenal meal. Xmas Eve special. Sea bass was out of this world. Thanks for being open and having a great staff.

   All of our dishes were a very pleasant surprise! We had the Christmas seafood special. The calamari was tender. The shrimp on the second course was spectacular! As was the accompaniment. The main course entree of sea bass was generous and served on top of a potato patty with sauce. The sea bass was perfectly cooked. We had dirty martinis which were very good . Then I had a cucumber cooler which was over priced and just marginally satisfying. We also had an old fashioned which was just good, overpriced as well. How to make the meal better? We both thought that the sea bass would have been better served on a risotto cake or at least crispy potatoes. The patty ended up soggy and rather unappealing. Nor did it complement the sea bass. I would go for a lighter batter on the calamari. The tiramisu was a hit out of the ballpark, save the presentation…. It was served like it was just cut out of a sheet pan and plopped on a plate. It was delicious though. Our server was sweet and attentive. We did request to slow down each delivery of courses as we were drinking and enjoying the experience of the delicious courses and conversation.

   Love Mallards. We go there fairly often. Super disappointed this trip. Server was polite and friendly but the food was pretty bad. Got the feast of 7 fishes. My family was finished with their appetizer about 15 minutes before my first course came out. The calimari was pretty rubbery. When my main course finally came out the fish was warm, the potatoes were room temp and the sauce that it came in literally was like it just came out of the fridge. Still had lumps in it. Normally a great place but really bad this time.
