   Always fantastic. We love making this our last night on the island restaurant. I have to say though, I wish they had kept the Covid area expansion outside. That was missed.

   We came here to celebrate a birthday based on recommendations. The dining room was not particularly inviting and looked crowded with the tables too close together. They sat us in a strange area by the parking lot that was really hot and not pleasant. We did not enjoy the atmosphere nor did we appreciate waiting around 20 minutes before a server came to take our order. This place is also quite overpriced for what you get. The ube bread, though tasty, was about a 6 inch roll for $12. The ahi plate for about $50 was a mush of ahi, mashed potatoes and too many mushrooms. The ahi needed a harder sear and the dish needed a crunch element (Mac nuts?) along with the pickled ginger. The fresh fish dish was a relatively small thin piece of fish for about $50 on puréed squash with vegetables. It was not very memorable. We couldn’t wait to leave as the heat was getting unbearable. Frankly, we expected a lot more from this restaurant and can’t recommend it.

   We absolutely love Mala’s! It is the first place we book when we visit. The food and service are wonderful, and the view is spectacular. The sea turtles are a magical addition.

   Tasty food, laid back ambience with sounds of the ocean. Personally, don’t think the 4% kitchen fee should be added on top of the expected tip.

    the setting for the restaurant can not be improved. The ocean, whales, sunsets - nothing else to ask for. the service was impeccable. We were well taken care of and had full glasses of water. We never had to ask for anything. The food was remarkable. Fresh, beautiful presentations, and some of the best tasting food on the Island of Maui. Guaranteed not to be a waste of your time and money.
