   The food was indescribably terrible. We had 3 guests that ordered the squid appetizer… they were delivered cold… and had to send them all back…… retuned warm and not tender. 2 ppl ordered fois gras… was severed as a cold country pate. So after a bad 1st round… we had concerns about our mains. Three people ordered the paella… again cold and dry. We sent those back only for it to return as burnt rice and drier . I believe the other order was some type of pork … all I can do to describe it as being some type of pressed rolled dry pork. Finally we had one person with a salad as a main… was swimming in salad dressing. Needless to say…a disastrous meal. I understand a new chef is there… we had gone to give the new chef a try… sadly… will not be back which is too bad… as the staff are great the atmosphere is lovely… but you go to a restaurant for quality food … I hope management does the right thing … and finds a GOOD new chef

   We had a delightful dinner at Maison Mère. It is a beautiful setting, the servers were attentive, and our flambéd steaks were delicious. We hope to dine here again during our vacation.

   The restaurant was extremely accommodating. As cigarette smoke and ashes wafted into the restaurant where we sat, the manager immediately rolled down a screen which help to alleviate the unpleasant situation. This action was welcomed and appreciated by everyone in our corner of the restaurant. The ambience, food, and service were outstanding! Highly recommended!!

   Over one hour to get our main and the dessert was a disaster ( soufflé vanilla ) without any vanilla cream

   We had a reservation for 8:30 and weren’t seated until 9pm. It took a long time to get any attention from the waiter so it was 10pm by the time our appetizer came out. They added something to the bone marrow which made it barely edible. The lobster pasta was bland. We decided to skip dessert.

   An extremely underwhelming and disappointing experience from the moment upon arrival. No one to great guests at the host stand despite standing reservations. No eye contact, brief wave or acknowledgement of any kind from staff working the floor. Collectively the food was subpar to say the least. Paella is completely devoid of all flavor. There are fantastic restaurants all over SXM. This is not one of them.
