Before the James Beard Award and the Gourmet Magazine review, Lotus of Siam was a small little hole in the wall located in Commercial Center in Las Vegas. November 1999 was the month Chef Saipin and her husband Bill took over Lotus of Siam. Since then, Thai food became an adventure for those willing to step out of their comfort zones for Asian Cuisine. Chef Saipin’s distinct cooking has been passed down from generation to generation, from both her grandmothers and her husband’s grandmothers. Her northern style cooking has opened America into the “Northern” world of Thailand, away from the Bangkok style of sweet and tang. The northern menu consists of hearty herbs and spices, along with Thai style stews and coconut-less curries. Through her set menus, our guests can dine and enjoy recipes from over 100 years in the Chutima family.

We had a reservation but were seated in the bar area which was very loud. The food was delicious, however they were out of a few appetizers we ordered. I would go back for thr crispy prawns.

No good experience ! The waiters were cleaning up around us with the vacuum cleaner and cleaning products while we were eating and when we pointed this out to the manager he arrogantly replied that it was the end of the service. A $200 bill! And we didn't even enjoyed our meal. Shame on the manager, zero percent professionalism

Have been to Lotus 4 or 5 times more so in the original location which was fabulous. The quality of the food was not great and they were out of both appetizers we wanted. Sad because it used to be my number 1 choice when visiting Vegas. Service was outstanding.

The restaurant has taken a nosedive since it opened. You can definitely see the wear, from the tables to the menus. The prices have gotten a bit ridiculous as well. It used to be a favorite, but will most likely not go back.

Excellent and quick service. And the food was delicious. Whenever we travel to Las Vegas we always make reservations to have dinner here.

An off night at Lotus. Been coming for years, but this visit was not impressive. Food appeared one appetizer and one entree at a time which made dining awkward, particularly when bringing first-time diners. Not a rememberable experience.
