   Love the cold udon! Chicken wings are great. Portion is a bit small for us. Good selections to choose from. This YYC experience of Duck is delicious!

   The scallops were stunning - a generous portion as well. The cod was good, not great. Out of the apps, the gyoza and the tonkatsu sandwich were the highlights; the agedashi tofu and shrimp tempura were good. The service was perfect.

   Overall atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing. Our server came off a bit cold towards us the whole meal, but no issues with the actual service. We ordered a couple of apps with hand rolls. For apps, we got the bread, chicken wings, prawn tempura, and the bluefin tuna tartare. The bread with the koji butter was quite mid and underwhelming. The bread resembled no more than 2 dinner rolls with sesame seeds, and the koji butter had the same flavour of regular old butter; quite disappointing for such a stark 7 dollar price point. Having previously tried real Japanese milk buns fresh in Japan, these did not live up to our expectations. The prawn tempura were very good, nice flavour and portion size. The bluefin tuna tartare was good. The crackers were delicious, but the actual tartare lacked seasoning and tasted a bit bland. The sauce on top made up most of the tartare, and eating it with the crackers tasted like eating a mouth full of sauce. While most of our appetizers were okay, the real disappointing part of our meal was the handrolls. The seaweed for all of our handrolls came out extremely chewy and soggy. While we expected a satisfying crunch from the seaweed in the handroll, we instead spent our time struggling to chew our food. This was not expected since we had began eating the handrolls the moment they were served at our table. The flavour was also at most okay, nothing too shocking or special. The best part of our meal were the fried chicken wings. The sauce paired perfectly with the uniquely fried wings. Overall, our meal was a bit pricey, and not necessarily worth it for the price. I would only recommend this restaurant if you are trying to find a cute spot with an aesthetic interior; the food alone is not worth going to for.

   Had the YYC expo bento box. It was amazing. Our server was lovely, I wish i got her name so that I could thank her directly. Sat on the sun porch which was so nice.

    Tasty cocktails, delicious food. Staff are very attuned to any allergies or food restrictions, and that was much appreciated as one of our party had a ginger aversion, which was handled well. Every time a dish came, it arrived announced as "no ginger" regardless if it were shared or an individual item. We absolutely raved over the handrolls - the miso cod in particular. There was a bit of a service blip at the start of our evening, but that was smoothed over - it's a good note to restaurants that if one server needs to spend a chunk of time taking care of another customer, then perhaps someone should step in temporarily to ensure everyone is being taken care of well. This happened, but only because we drew attention to it. Not my first time at this spot and certainly not my last - it's too delicious and has such good vibes to not return.
