Celebrated chef Pablo Salas brings Lona Cocina Tequileria to Fort Lauderdale Beach. Lona, offers an eclectic, modern twist on traditional Mexican cooking in a chic, yet funky environment. A diverse menu includes ceviches, crab-infused guacamole, tostadas, tacos, meats from the grill and shareable sides at an affordable price. After coming to Lona twice during our vacation we had a very similar experience. While the food was delicious (a little overpriced but the view of the beach makes up for it). The service is nonexistent. On both occasions our server took our order and then disappeared until it was time for the check. We were unable to order more food, was never asked about our meal, if we wanted more to drink, etc. The real MVP of the meal are the bus boys who are actually available to help - who got us hot sauce, more water (when asked for 3 different times), and containers at the end of the meal. Either the serves are severely understaffed or they lack any form of customer service.

While I always want to love this place I always leave feeling let down. Our table was in a corner with birds lurking over our table. Our sever forgotten husband’s beer. I requested more salsa which I never got. The table of 6 was definitely a bigger priority. The food was fine. It was just lack luster considering we dined at 4:30 pm. I think I’m done dining here for a while.

The food was amazing and our server was friendly and kind. We sat in the patio section where we had clear view of the beach. Our sever was very attentive to us and also gave us many recommendations from the menu. The only complain I will give is about the alcoholic beverages. We ordered two and they were not that great. Mine tasted like juice and my partners was extremely sour. Overall I will definitely be back! Amazing place

Food had very little taste and did not have particular flavor the made it stand out. The carne asada tacos were tender but very bland. I must say that the tortilla soup was good and did have a little bit of “heat” along with a good flavor but different from similar as pups elsewhere.the service was good considering it was a busy holiday weekend night in season. The view is always good. The best bet is to ask how your choice is actually prepare. I asked for a little more cilantro and received two pieces that resulted in a small up charge on the bill that was a surprise. Regardless of the comments, the food is good but not exceptional.

I sat outside and it was a beautiful day out. The drinks were very good but you can service was overwhelmed. We did have a very nice waitress but she didn’t come to check on us much.

Brunch buffet was OK, but nothing that merits any special mentions. The drinks and service were good, and our waitress was fast and attentive. The noise level and music made it very hard to have a conversation. The alternate menu was quite limited. I expected more. Won't be returning for brunch on the patio.
