Fresh Locally Sourced Cuisine. The Chef Proprietor originally from Italy has a passion for fresh, locally sourced produce and Italian wines which are reflected in our seasonal menus. Locanda also has a third generation pizza chef for authentic Neapolitan pizzas. The menu changes with seasonal availability and caters very well for all dietary requirements. All dishes are cooked to order and served in a relaxing candlelit room overlooking the sea and ancient harbour.

Classic, relaxing and warming our newly created Italian inspired restaurant offers a changing menu governed by local, organic, seasonal availability. Our passionate kitchen team delight in creating Italian inspired dishes influenced by the Exmoor larder with a few vegan options for our valued clients. We aim to accommodate most dietary choices in line with the ever-growing band of people wishing to know provenance and how the food they eat was reared or grown. We have a hand-chosen selection of wines and our chef-proprietor is on hand to talk to you about them.
Private party facilities
Locanda welcomes private events both for the restaurant alone and also for the whole hotel and restaurant taken together (minimum 2 nights) with 5 en suite rooms sleeping up to 11 guests. The property lends itself to family and friends special occasion celebrations with menus tailored to meet your requirements, we delight in making the occasion a special and memorable experience. Warm welcome, friendly knowledgeable waiter. Quiet classical music just audible. Lovely views of Porlock bay. The celeriac soup was amazing and the duck was melt in the mouth delicious accompanied by a good veneto wine. A delicious pudding and complimentary limoncello rounded off a perfect meal. Not cheap but well worth the money - highly recommended.

I can not fault the food as it was lovely, but the atmosphere was very subdued,the waiter seem ill at ease with his position ,which didn’t help the ambiance ..

Would you recommend Loconda on the Weir to a friend? This seems like a good place to start; yes ut with provisos. Booked and visited in February, our experience was that the resteraunt felt cold as did the toilets. The temperature appeared set to meet the staffs needs not the the dinning clients. I don't feel the cold! A reasonably attentive welcome followed by reasonable service as first and main course were served. Although not full the resteraunt was noisy, music not well considered for the the environment and, on occasion, too loud. Detail such as this matters. No soft furnishings or curtaining in evidence to absorb sound. Our experience of the food was mixed, starters very pleasant, my wifes main thoroughly impressed, my pasta dish distinctly average. The desert menu was very limited and no choice of coffies, no desert wine or cheese on the desert menu. Omissions it seemed to us. So to this point a mixed experience. We really wanted to enjoy this meal but felt that it was somewhat lacking particularly as the service dropped off towards the end of the evening at which point we found ourselves collecting our own coats and having no host to say goodbye to. All in all somewhat underwhelming. My wife would recommend to a friend on the strength of her food. I wouldn't. Too many gaps. Hope this helps.

I am truly sorry we did not quite meet your expectations on the night you dined with us, we always try our very best to make your experience as pleasurable as possible both in the restaurant and the hotel. The issues with the music and heating could have been resolved if you had mentioned it and the menu comments are subjective but are acknowledged. Thank you.

Visited Locanda for the first time on Valentine's evening with my wife and had a fabulous evening. We eat from a set menu and each course was a sumptuous delight! The chef came and spoke with us after and the front of house and table waiter were lovely. Particularly loved the local oysters. Highly recommended.
