Warm, cozy prohibition era decor in Victoria's 'Old Town". In 1882 Harry Johnson first published the Bartenders’ Manual/Guide for Hotels and Restaurants. He is still known today for his sagacious writings on service excellence and customer care. He bought the Little Jumbo Saloon in New York from a peer and rival named Jerry Thomas who had founded it in 1866. Because of Thomas’ pioneering work in popularizing cocktails across the United States; he is considered "the father of American mixology”. In addition to writing the seminal work on cocktails, his creativity and showmanship established the image of the bartender as a creative professional. We pay homage to these two and our Little Jumbo emphasizes the fine craft of preparing fresh local food with a focus on continental and contemporary and pairing it with fine wines and the best of classic and modern mixology. A particular emphasis is on creating exceptional customer experience, something very dear to Harry Johnson’s heart.

The experience, food and Staff were amazing. We felt very safe during these COVID times and would definitely go again. However, if you do not feel comfortable eating in the restaurant they do offer take out and cocktails to go! Thanks to everyone at Little Jumbo for making the night great.

Little Jumbo is amazing! The drinks are perfection and the food is always amazing. I'm never disappointed when I go there. The last time I went I wasn't able to have an alcoholic cocktail, so they very kindly made me some amazing temperance drinks. I was really impressed at the complexity and thought that went into the drinks and appreciated being able to have a non-alcoholic 'adult' drink. The bartender even came over to check to make sure they were to our liking. 100% recommend this place!

I enjoy coming back here every time! The food and cocktails never fail to surprise me in the best way possible. Service is friendly and pleasant. This is truly the best little gem in Victoria!

Very tasty food. I felt bad for eating it because the food was so beautiful. Instagram worthy. Some of the food was a bit too salty for my liking but they brought us a lot of bubbly water so I survived lol. Seriously nice place. Yeah this was a good place and the bathrooms had cotton hand towels. That is all.
