L'Escargot is London's oldest and most celebrated French restaurant serving classic French provincial dishes. It also has a great cocktail bar with reasonably priced cocktails and all day dining. Upstairs in the cocktail Bar there are live music acts every weekend.

The restaurant has welcomed luminaries such as Coco Chanel, Charles de Gaulle, Maurice Chevalier, Laurence Olivier, Lucien Freud and Francis Bacon. Princess Diana was a regular and to this day the restaurant is the home of many celebrated personalities.

It is located close to all the major West-End theatres, which makes it an excellent pre and post theatre dining spot.

It was a great experience. The food, ambience was great but the service is average. Came for my husbands birthday. Left a note at the time of booking if any special dessert or a small gesture can be done for his birthday. The server was also made aware that we have come to celebrate his birthday , but NOTHING was done. Disappointing!

Lovely venue in the midst of Soho. Sunday lunch set menu had a reasonably broad selection to choose from. Food was good particularly the main courses. Dessert was a bit hit-and-miss but made up by the wide selection of French wines. Brilliant service from start to finish - our waiter was particularly helpful and professional.

Nice table with comfy armchairs. Food was very good as usual, but the set menu doesn’t seem to change so is getting a bit boring. Service was very attentive.

I had a lovely afternoon tea at L'Escargot with a group of girl friends. It was raining heavily and they were able to accommodate us half an hour early, and we were made very welcome. The choice of teas was good, and we all enjoyed the ones we chose. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were also excellent, as was the glass of champagne that we decided to included. All in all, a lovely afternoon tea experience.
