   We each had a crab cake app, and a bowl of lobster bisque to share. The crab cakes were outstanding, the lobster bisque not so much, as very little lobster and way too heavy with cream. And James our waiter never bothered to ask us if we wanted refills of our sodas, which we desperately did.

   We usually have a fabulous meal at Legals although we don’t usually go to the Downtown crossing location. My fish was undercooked. I sent it back and it was still undercooked when they returned it. It was very disappointing but they were kind enough to take it off our dinner bill.

   Our waitress was pretty awful, which can really drag a dinner experience down. Had to get up and find her to finally get drinks (after being seated for 15 minutes). Rickety table. Things like nigiri brought with no soy sauce or chopsticks. It was like my 12 year old was running the place…except I think he would have done a better job.

   They forgot to bring me my food. Everyone else had their food, I finally found a server, they went and checked, and said the kitchen made a mistake. My food takes 5 minutes should be here no problem. Waited another 15 minutes… still no food. After an hour, we gave up and started packing it up to find me food elsewhere. They finally brought it as we saturated getting coats on. So…. I didn’t eat it. No manager checked. Horrible.

   We had an exceptional meal! Our server James was great, very helpful and service was quick. They were extra busy due to the Nutcracker performance next door but we were not rushed and enjoyed it all. Kids menu was one of the best I’ve seen by daughter ate like a queen. Will definitely be back again.

   The last time I dined at a Legal Seafood restaurant was about 5 years ago. I remember the service and the food was pretty good. Tonight, the service was good, but the food was less than mediocre. I was with 2 other people. Two of us ordered the clams and linguine. The third person was planning to order shrimp scampi, but it was not on the menu, so she ordered the clams and linguine, but omitted the clams, and substituted shrimp. (for an extra charge). The waiter said that they had removed shrimp scampi from the menu; it was a seasonal item. We didn't understand why, since the clams and linguini were so close to shrimp scampi, and there were other shrimp items on the menu. Anyway, the clams and linguini, and the shrimp and linguine were all disappointing. The linguine was very dry. There was a little sauce in the bottom of the dish, but not enough to moisten the food on top of it. The clams were tough as old dried rubber bands. There were several broken pieces of clam shell the dishes. I wouldn't go to Legal Seafood again. Too many other choices in the area.
