Since 1931 and revived in 2024, Restaurant Ile de France combines old-world French culinary traditions with contemporary Montreal influences in the heart of Downtown.

Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Chef Liam Hopkins

From the OpenTable editors: The stunning Art Deco architecture is reason enough to visit this landmark restaurant in Centre Eaton de Montréal, which first opened in 1931. Evenings flow from the elegant cocktail bar to the fine dining restaurant, where diners can indulge in classic fare such as prime beef tenderloin or gnocchi Parisienne while admiring the space’s well-preserved historic features.

We came to the restaurant with two friends who had never been there before. The ambience, the food and the service were delightful. The noise level was perfect. The wait staff were attentive and very helpful. Our guests enjoyed the restaurant and we will all be back. ❤️

Our selections were delicious, although the vinagrette could have been toned down on the green slad. The cocktails and wines were very good. Our waiter was excelllent. But the service was a little rushed, the assisting servers bringing food before our cocktails were hardly started and we had to send them back. After that no problems. But a little more training polish is needed for the younger staff. Meals at the bar a good addition although we were at table. Just great to see the 9th floor open again, and so well done.

Our server was great and very attentive. The place is gorgeous but we were sat next to the kitchen, maybe the doors should be kept closed? Not a massive choice but something for everyone…I had thought the lunch menu would also be available Would like to return for dinner.
