   While it was restaurant week we (six of us) all opted for the main menu. Everything was delicious - the mushroom appetizer, the focaccia, the serpent pasta, the salad, and the pork chop (amazing). We did a lot of sharing and everyone thought everything was good. Our waitress was delightful.

   Again, Lazia continues to amaze, this time during KC Restaurant Week. Each item was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. From focaccia toast with whipped ricotta, balsamic and marmalade to filled ravioli (my words) to a wonderful banana themed desert. Each dish was a masterpiece. You won’t regret coming to this restaurant.

   We went to Lazia during Restaurant Week. My husband and I opted to not order from the RW menu but our friends did. Our server warned us that things would be delivered at intervals and we would not all receive food at the same time. The first dishes were put down in front of us. We weren't really sure what the dishes were. Our friends encouraged us to start without them. We realized that the dishes were actually theirs, not ours. For most of the meal we didn't recognize what the dishes were and the people delivering didn't say. We all agreed that most of the food was weird . When my husband's dessert was delivered it came without the espresso which is a key ingredient of affogato. We had to ask for them to bring the espresso as the person bringing the dessert had no idea. Beautiful restaurant, great primary server. I'm glad we got to go here once but won't be going again. Prices too high.

   Wonderful experience, from the aperitif while we waited for our table, to the outstanding food, the great service and ambiance…it felt like we were in Italy again. A new favorite for us.

   Some of the best food we’ve had in KC but we waited 45 minutes for an 8:15 reservation. Please honor your reservations times by asking the previous party to leave after a reasonable amount of time. (We were told by the hostess they had been there for 3+ hours.) That being said, we were compensated with a free round of wine and bread.

   Lazia is my latest favorite place in town. We had 4 dishes and each was better that the last. Focaccia bread to start was perfectly toasted, salad with toasted bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, pickled peppers, olives and a tart dressing was my favorite. The seafood pasta was beautiful and delicious on a variety of levels, with the sauce being the ‘secret’ sauce (infused parsley, cavier, and more). The roasted chicken was also awesome, tender and delicious!

   The pasta was very good. The focaccia was saturated with olive oil. We asked for a new serving without extra oil and it was delicious. Service was extremely slow - though very friendly. There were multiple 15-20 minute gaps where no one came to our table and there was no one to flag down.

While the olive oil on the focaccia is delicious it can be a bit decadent, I'm glad you were able to enjoy the fresh serving with out it.
