   I’m normally not a bad review writer, but so far our experience at this restaurant has been shockingly bad. Because we are staying at the hotel for 3 nights, we’ve given them far more opportunities than we would normally. Here are our 3 encounters: 1. Our room was not ready before 5pm so we went into the bar for a cocktail to wait. Cocktails were well made - we would have had two, but after ordering the first and some “HH snacks” no one came back to our table for almost an hour. We asked twice for the bill, walking up to the bar both times, which was a few feet from our table. My partner went to get set up in the room and I waited another 15 minutes after the bar tender said “yes, I know” to my third ask for the tab. 2. We had reservations that evening for the prize fixe menu at $86/person - we waited to be sat for 20 mins after our reservation. We sat at the table they took us to for another 30 mins until a young woman walked up and said “I know you’ve been helped but is there anything I can do for you?” I said “Well, we prepaid for the prize fixe menu, but” and she started to rush off saying “oh! I’ll check on that for you!” I had to shout “wait! No one has come by yet before you.” To stop her and she went and grabbed a notepad from the bar to write down our options. We also ordered cocktails. 20 mins later the bar tender brought the cocktails, noticed our empty water glasses and came back to fill them for a he first time. The cocktails were excellent. Our soup was brought to the table long after the cocktails were gone. We weren’t asked if we wanted another. The soup was cold. The fish was cold and extremely salty. 3. Breakfast - they got the order wrong twice and the “coffee” came in a paper cup with a lid - I had to open it after the first sip to be sure it wasn’t just hot water.

   We were excited to return to Landrace. It had been a couple of years. The last time they had great cocktails. This time the cocktail menu was more limited. No smoked old fashioned. I asked about a caipirinha. The server said that he wasn’t familiar with the cocktail and was sure they couldn’t make it. He didn’t even check with the bar. I ordered a daiquiri, which is similar, and enjoyed the cocktail. My husband and I ordered yummy deviled eggs, a Caesar salad, and the daily fish special of halibut to share. The deviled eggs were wonderful. Every component of the fish dish was so overly salted neither of us could eat it. The server graciously took it back.

   We had a beautiful experience and amazing service throughout our visit. As soon as we arrived, our table was already prepared for us, and immediately we were greeted with a warm smile, exceptional hospitality, and the food to die for! I highly recommend coming here.

   Great happy hour and the bartender, Kenny, provided excellent service and made our experience at Landrace great. We ordered the double cheeseburger and fries and the catch of the day entrees as well as the bacon cheddar biscuits and all were very delicious.

   This was my 3rd time visiting this establishment. The first two visits were OUTSTANDING. Service, food, ambiance were ALL great. This time the service was great and the ambiance was good. However, the food quality was VERY DISAPPOINTING. I don't know if they have changed chefs or concept but it has now gone to a list of restaurants that we will not visit, again. This is sad because we go to events downtown and usually eat out ahead of time.

   I would have give 5 stars except yall were not justly, we arrived early and the kitchen only had one pork chop left. We also were not able I order one of the drinks due to the bar being out of stock.

   The staff did a good job. The burger was delicious as was the fried chicken sandwich. The avocado toast was disappointing. The one piece of toast was tough and not easy to cut. Almost all of the avocado was brown and did not look good.
