   Disappointing Experience at Lala. I had high expectations for Lala, billed as a fine dining experience, but unfortunately, it fell short on several fronts. To begin with, I booked a table for five but was given a four-person table with five plates awkwardly squeezed in. After a short, but frustrating argument, they finally agreed to move us to a table more appropriate for our party size—a basic expectation at any restaurant, let alone one positioning itself as fine dining. The food was okay but nothing memorable, certainly not worth a return visit. While the waitstaff was polite, the service overall was mediocre and lacked the polish one expects from a fine dining establishment. The team didn’t seem properly trained to deliver the level of service the restaurant aspires to provide. What truly soured the experience was the pricing. While I don’t mind paying premium prices for a stellar meal and service, Lala failed to justify its cost. For instance, a glass of Yamazaki 18 was $250, and a bottle of Pazo de Barrantes was the same price—far higher than comparable fine dining restaurants in the area. And the cherry on top: after spending almost $1,300 before tip on our meal, I asked for a cortado coffee only to be told that the coffee machine had already been shut off. This lack of attention to detail and guest satisfaction solidified my decision never to return. Lala may position itself as fine dining, but based on my experience, it is anything but. Save your money and dine elsewhere.

   Waited 15+ minutes to be served by the waiter, when the waiter came to out table she didn’t even present herself she just asked if we were ready to order. We asked about the menu and what was good and all she said was “Everything’s good”, so we just ordered. When our entrees came no one came to our table for more then 25+ minutes and we didn’t have water or coke which was what we were drinking. We wanted to leave so we just asked for the check and we had to wait 15+ minutes for the check. The other tables were always being attended and always receiving attention, we didn’t receive nothing of that. Oh and it was my birthday. We would’ve understood if the restaurant was full, but not even that.

   One of the best meals of my life. Servers and staff are Incredibly hospitable. The details in service are very much appreciated and do not go over looked. The food is decadent and worth the price point. Had an amazing birthday. Can’t wait to come back. thank you!

    Pretty ambiance, good service and good cocktails. But the food we ordered was subpar. Focaccia was burned, the duck was overcooked and the “beef Wellington” (they serve the meat and pastry apart) pastry was cold. Recently defrosted cold. For the price I expected better. If you only come for cocktails, then it’s fine.
