   Excellent service. Beautiful scenery. Order the approl spritz sorbet. Not on the menu, so ask for it. Amazing!

   So problem started with parking our car. Valet wanted $55 to park our car for dinner or garage self park for $40 or an open visitor lot with no lights by car nor on a slippery snow covered path with no signs directing you to the restaurant. Our server was polite but the restaurant was short staffed and since we were in the lounge for non hotel guests, service was very slow. The main dishes, pasta special came to the table with the server announcing very hot plates which means they were sitting under heat lamps. My friend and I ordered the same dish but we got 2 very different dishes. My pasta have a huge amount of sauce on it and my friend's pasta dish was dry of sauce. I'm sure if you are a Fairmont guest, your experience would be very different !

   The food and ambiance were good, although the service wasn't quite up to standard. After the meals were brought, they didn't come back to check on us until we were halfway finished eating. That's a long time, especially as we needed some salt, and the food would have been better if they'd come around to see if we needed anything earlier. When our glasses were empty, they didn't notice. Likely could have sold us one more drink if they'd bothered to collect the empty glasses. Also, when we were finished eating, we sat with the empty plates for about 20 minutes before anyone came to clear them. Not quite what you expect of fine dining. The restaurant was less than half full, and the staff were not over stressed. Bit of a shame. But overall a decent experience.

   Fantastic lunch! Our server was extremely accommodating and attentive. He even helped us to get a bottle of champagne off of a different list. We greatly appreciated it. We absolutely loved the shrimp cocktail and the tableside Caesar salad. All in all a beautiful experience with one of the best views in the entire world. Thanks again!

   We visited the lounge after our Lake Louise experience. This time, we were there for a coffee, a cocktail, and dessert. We particularly enjoyed the Carajillo and Passionfruit dessert.

    We had a delightful dining experience at The Vermillion Room, Fairmont Banff Springs yesterday. The culinary offerings there surpassed those at Lakeview Lounge. We ordered the Lobster Roll and Prime Rib French Dip, but both were disappointing in terms of taste and value for money. We had lunch at the bar, corner seating next to the window. Alexis, the only bartender we met who knew of Carajillo in the Banff region, was great.
