Maison Navarre has a limited dinner menu but enough variety to suit most diners. Great wine and cocktails and a hardworking A+ regular server.

A mini-trip to France. Everything was special for a reunion of four friends who met at Maison Navarre. The baked eggs were done to perfection, the duck confit was carefully made. We shared a battle of wine —a light Pinot Grigio which complimented our egg dishes perfectly. And dessert—ah!! We shared four different kinds of pastries, all good. Our favorites were the opera cake and the hazelnut chou. Our server let us linger, just as we would at a real cafe. Definitely recommend and will return next time we are in Portsmouth!

We love Maison Navarre! Food is wonderful- we’ve always preferred to eat upstairs for the menu there. Our favorite server is Eric, who is attentive but not excessive, and has such a great personality.

Delightful from start to finish. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive and though the food was slow to arrive, it was worth waiting for.

We ate there once and it was phenomenal- so we went back last night and tried the fondue. The cheese was fine, but the bread was tiny and dry and the potatoes were way too small - like left over breakfast hash browns. The meat was tasty but it was in deli slices so it didn’t really dip easily. The service was fine, drinks were good, but our elevated expectations were not met.

The risotto with chestnuts and pancetta was a revelation in flavor. And there are always good wines to choose from.

This place is a real little gem! The food was great and the quiet location in the loft at the back of the shop was a real surprise. They only seat about 20 people and there’s only one chef doing the cooking so it isn’t a spot for a quick bite. If you’re going to a show at the Music Hall across the street, be sure to tell them up front. Plan extra time for a slow-paced relaxing experience but definitely go. Can’t wait to return.
