Located at 699 14th Street on the coveted corner of 14th and G Street NW, La Grande Boucherie is situated on the most high-profile street in Washington D.C., just one block away from the White House. The restaurant is built in elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style, evoking the sense of optimism from the turn of the 20th century. The brasserie’s menu features both classic and modern French dishes, with focus on the meat program, raw bar and extravagant large-format meats, ideal for sharing and celebrating. Mahogany wood and glass partitions divide the gargantuan space to create intimate dining experiences. These pieces are adorned in gilded accents and uniquely curved arches inspired by the 20th-century Art Nouveau movement of Paris. The main dining room highlights a massive curved bar with a metal top imported from Paris, a signature piece of Boucherie.

I took my girlfriend to La Grande Boucherie for our anniversary dinner. It was probably the best anniversary dining experience I could have asked for. The service was very professional and attentive. Our server was very kind and made sure we had a good experience. The food was incredible and the cocktails were tasty. I recommend LGB for special occasions and for dining with people you really care about—no better way to show them. Also, the live jazz bar was amazing. I want to say thank you for such a great memory, one that my partner and I will cherish for a long time to come.

Impressive space but with not much real ambience. Service was friendly and attentive and generally pretty good, except the waiter messed up one order (which meant one of us eating while the other waited). As to the food...oysters lovely, onion soup very special, hamburger excellent but spoiled somewhat by the fries being both burnt and cold at the same time. Disappointment was NY strip steak...really not the highest quality meat for this price of a restaurant and overcooked for an order of medium. Overall, satisfactory but expensive for just satisfactory.

Visited for an anniversary dinner. The staff was very committed to making our night special, and the food was phenomenal. Impulsively adding the Brussels sprouts stole the show and the desserts were amazing as well.

Came from across the country. Last night here wanted a ritzy, special dinner to celebrate this 2025 Inauguration trip with my son. A Parisian restaurant just down the street from the White House was called for. We started by being seated at a tiny table nearly on the lap of the couple next to us. Heard their whole conversation. My son got to face the beauty of the restaurant. I LITERALLY faced the window where you could only stare into the kitchen. I saw hamburgers buns in a plastic bag, in a plastic bin. I saw a red exit sign. I saw a fry cook using the grease fryer. I saw spatulas and storage. I work in a kitchen at home. I didn’t come to a $$$$ restaurant to pay $250, only to look into the kitchen. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to sit there. I had to stratal the legs of the table underneath and brace my feet against the wood because I kept slowly sliding in the lightweight chairs. My son had to position his long legs accordingly. My $19 salad barely had any dressing. Our waiter was so slow. Only my son had a glass of wine and the guy suggested he buy a bottle instead of a glass. What in the world?!? For one young man, a whole bottle?!? I held the menu in my hand because the table was so small, until we ordered about 20 minutes later. There was nowhere else to lay it. They played pop music I think. What??? In a highly advertised Parisian restaurant. If one ordered the escargot, you’d think you’d want to be hearing the melodies of French music. Sorry! Even Olive Garden plays Italian music! My steak was good but I think I prefer a good steak from Texas Roadhouse or Outback instead. I’m not sure what bougie food we were paying for. Another gal moved us elsewhere. Thank you! After dinner when I asked for a dessert menu, she brought us 3 different desserts that were the best sellers, due to our trouble. Only liked 1 of them. But where was the dessert menu WE had asked for? We wanted to decide what we wanted. We waited 15+ minutes to get our check and had to ask twice
