Really disappointing experience. This place has great ambiance but awful food. I ordered the mussels Dijonnaise — a couple were bad, which was enough to make me stop eating them altogether. The fries were soggy, the onion soup was completely bland and disappointing. Only decent part of the meal was the drink — well-made, but not enough to save the experience. Definitely not a place I’d recommend.

This was my second time here. We went early for drinks after work and ended up staying for a while. They had a great pairing of drink/wine/cocktail options. Food was delicious and not super heavy like French food can be. Service was great—Our waitress, Kami, was exceptional and very attentive. Great option in River north for dinner or just drinks at the bar.

One of the best steaks we have had in Chicago in the last 13 years if not the best. The fillet mignon was cut like butter. The waiter, Philip, who is french added to the experience. A great place to celebrate my husband's birthday.

My reservation was not recognized upon arrival. We were fortunate that there wasn’t a big crowd. Just love this place, tho, and will return soon.

The food; the service and the atmosphere was absolutely amazing. This was my first of what will be many future dinners at La Grande Boucherie.

Beautiful decor & large restaurant. We sat upstairs which is more formal and architecturally cool than the bar seating downstairs. Very comfortable. Attentive service without being overbearing. Escargot was traditional & very good with excellent baguette. Oysters were pricy even for oysters but nice choice of east and west coast. Wagyu burger was delicious and the frites with it were perfect. The duck confit was very good but the breast that came with it was chewy and too rare (I did ask for medium rare but good duck would cut like butter. This did not.) and the breast portion was small. Couldn’t pick up on the “orange sauce” that supposedly was on the duck. The real downside of this dish, however, was the bean and veggie accompaniment. It was cold and undercooked and just left me unsatisfied with the whole dish.
