Music was incredibly loud, couldn’t hear each other at a table of 4. Very slow service, food was served very cold. Were asked to calculate our own bills. Servers were at least friendly, but unprepared/uninterested.

Food was good but the tacos are quite small. Service was okay, they were pretty busy when I went but once we were seated the service was pretty good

We really wanted to love this restaurant, but it was not to be. To start, although we arrived on time for our reservation, we waited at least ten minutes before anyone came to our table. We ordered, but the timing was terrible. Half our group of four got their order within ten minutes. I got my order another ten minutes later. THEN after another five to ten minutes, our waiter came to ask if anyone had been by to discuss my daughter's order (what?!). No. No one had "been by." "Oh, we can't fulfill her order because our sweet potatoes are breaded" (why this wasn't mentioned when we ordered and clearly said she could not have gluten is beyond me). So THEN he had to go back to the kitchen and ask what menu items would work for her. And then come and ask if she would eat the one item that worked (she cannot have dairy or eggs either, but we thought we'd figured something out when we first ordered). Now, we've been at the restaurant close to an hour by the time they finally bring my daughter her tacos. The waiter had clearly also forgotten that she had asked for no habanero or hot sauce. She is gulping down a meal that is far too spicy, the rest of us have finished eating, and we have only twenty minutes before our show starts. On top of this, I decided to eat my other daughter's last chicken piece. Wow. I can't believe she ate any of her meal. The chicken was like leather. The dark atmosphere had hidden how overcooked the meat was. Having worked at more than one restaurant as the short order cook, I recognized immediately food that had been put down to fry and been reheated several times. At the very least, I would have hoped for my oldest daughter's order to be comped. Nope. Full price for everything, and a tip prompt STARTING at 18% (thankfully there was an option to choose a different amount). If we hadn't been ten minutes until curtain, I would have taken this up with the manager. But by this point, I cut our losses and left.

With all the Mexican restaurants in the area, I would strongly recommend any other choice. La Carnita was a disappointment from beginning to end, with unfriendly host, flat pop, tasteless margarita. The Mexican street corn had a moldy taste. The Sweet Potato taco was uncooked, still hard. The Fish taco had pickled cabbage that was too intense and overpowered the taste of the taco. We sent the sweet potato back, and got a snarky comment from the waitress. This item was still on the bill when it came time to pay. We paid the bill, but would never go back.

Very very slow service. Finished tacos. Sat waiting waiting for server to come by for 45 mins to order another round of drinks and desert. Serving table right beside without acknowledging us.

Only server for the entire floor made the experience less optimal. I don’t usually go out on Sunday nights but it was extremely busy and it took so long to get someone for anything because there was only one server
