Love the customer service, staff, and the food. Ambiance was so relaxing. Wait time was top tier. Will return and share.

Do reservations matter? We were reserved for 2:15pm but had to wait until 3pm to be seated, and that was only after we kept asking “how much longer”. Meanwhile, the restaurant only has a 15 min grace period before they cancel on you…how is this fair? Food was ok—cornbread was dry; deviled eggs were sub-par; best part was my drink—I highly recommend the True Flame though it’s $30. While the music was AMAZING, if you go with friends and plan to have conversation, this is NOT the place!!! Music was way too loud—it’s more like a club vibe though we were there for lunch. Lastly, the food was super expensive and they include a 20% service fee in the bill which the server made clear he only gets half of, somewhat forcing you to feel like you need to give a tip as well. I was very disappointed with this place. I wanted to love it, but…well, if fell flat for me.

The food is absolutely amazing. The catfish taste so good with the grits. The desserts were perfect to finish off the evening. The service at the bar was not that impressive.

While the food is pretty good for what it is (southern comfort), this restaurant is very poorly managed. We arrived on time for our 7:30 reservation. On check in we were told that our table wasn’t yet ready. The bar area was packed so we ended up just standing in the front and we weren’t alone. After 20 minutes of waiting we watched another party of 2 walk in and get seated right away, which made no sense. When I inquired why they were seated before us, the hostess who also claimed to be the manager said this was “their” table while “our” table was still occupied. This just seems like a very inefficient seating system. Who knows how much longer we would have kept waiting had I not complained. Even 20 minutes on a Tuesday evening is going too far! I was almost starting to feel like they wanted us to leave. With that kind of a welcome, there is not enough corn bread or fried chicken in the world to save the evening! When we were finally begrudgingly seated, apparently at a huge inconvenience to the hostess/manager, we saw plenty of open tables while others were still standing waiting for a table out front, so I can’t even take it personally. Seems like this restaurant needs to rethink how they manage their seating.

Service wasn't even there. It was horrible both at the bar and with our server. I will never go there again. The food was fun but not even close to worth what you pay. Just a sad sad experience, in fact pathetic.

I ordered the fried lobster. Looks bigger in the picture than in person. You can finish it in 3-4 bites. Also, sides are separate from entree's. Not cool. Causes the overall meal to be at least 10% more. Drinks are overpriced as well. I want to support black businesses (if this is one) but it is way way WAY WAY TO EXPENSIVE!!!! Better off going somewhere else.

Upon arrival we were waiting for another couple so we were asked to wait downstairs waited 20 minutes for server to come take our drink order the other couple arrived and I assured We could transfer our drinks to table was chased down like I was trying to not pay for my drinks then we were seated server was very unpleasant we ordered a couple appetizers that were delicious that’s the only highlight of experience I ordered the salmon that was left on grill 30 minutes too long so dry I couldn’t eat it my wife got the smothered pork chops and needed a sword to cut it and extremely bland and dry my son got the chicken and communal waffles that were decent and my daughter in law got the jerk chicken there again needed a chain saw to cut and was extremely dry.the appetizer were flavorful collards and sweet potatoes but for $367 I wouldn’t expected so much more extremely disappointing. In that $367 was $60 in Alchol I am not satisfied by any means in this establishment and would not recommend to anyone

The food was good but a bit overpriced. I had the chicken and cinnamon waffles as well as the dream eggs. All were tasty. The front house service doesn’t match the price-point. I would definitely go back, upscale is more than quality ingredients and good food, it’s an experience, with staff training this place could really be awesome.
