   This is my fourth visit in the last three months and on this occasion it wasn’t as great as it has been. The food was superb but the service was a let down, maybe they were short staffed I don’t know but it was hard to get the waiters attention. First the waiter told us he would come back with water and take the drinks order. He didn’t, although he came and took the order we had to ask twice for the water. The wine came and we had to ask for a bucket with ice as it was room temp. It was a dry white and not chilled even a little bit. I am more annoyed at myself for not sending it back for another bottle. All in all the staff were friendly but on this occasion we felt it was a bit of a let down.

   Kiln has a great reputation and some of the food we ate was really good. However, some of the dishes were less good and presented really very poor value for money. £11 for one chicken skewer was particularly bad value, especially as the dishes are apparently designed for sharing. £6 for one small beetroot cut into quarters was also very poor value. The ambience is nice and the staff are friendly however it was difficult to get their attention for drinks etc. Definitely a place to visit but choose carefully from the menu.

   Kiln in Ouseburn is a fantastic spot! The vibe is youthful and lively, and the food is absolutely amazing. The staff were super friendly and made our experience even better. Highly recommend!!
