This was our second visit to Kestrel. Our server was exceptional, though we would have liked a little more time to finish our meal before the bus staff came to clear the table. Almost every food item was very good. Tops was the (large portion) of pork and shrimp rolls which should not be missed. Prime rib was fork tender but the jus was quite salty. Our friend’s steak was overdone, but our server provided a complimentary dessert (delicious carrot cake) to make up for it. We do enjoy Kestrel and will return.

We enjoyed a nice Friday afternoon lunch out on the patio. Service was outstanding! Waters and cocktails arrived promptly. The clam chowder was very good. Fish and chips were also great. I had the Cobb salad; I always ask for it to be tossed and chopped, which they did perfectly! An enjoyable time was had by all!

Staying at the Hyatt and lovely to have such a great option to walk to. Thought the ambiance was very cool, sophisticated. Food delicious, and service excellent. Chicken lettuce wraps, hamachi, and prime rib all excellent. . Truffle fries very truffly. Great experience, would definitely return.

Dinner Service was slow and we were not in a hurry. Servers seemed confused as to what table was getting which dishes. Also, we had lunch over the weekend, food and service was very good.

We have eaten at Kestral 4 times. They have been open long enough to have polished their menu and service. Well intentioned young people who provide the “welcome you guys” to two 75 year olds! Or the other favorite, “no problem”. They were very accommodating with substitutions and the timing from order to food delivery was ok. In past visits the fish of the day was excellent. Tonight the seared Ahi appeared to have been cooked from frozen. Very little flavor. Topped with a tasty fruit topping - more suited for halibut. A soy dipping sauce would have been preferred.

After watching Richard Blais with Gordon Ramsay on our experience at this new restaurant venture. We've dined at the Vue restaurant for years before this and was happy. Unfortunately our first try did not have the same outcome. I set up a date-night with my wife and was hoping this place would fit that bill when I looked on-line at the type of food and the pricing and the supposed upscale vibe it had undergone. Upon arrival the greeter asked where we'd like to sit, after I gave a pretty detailed note on my reservation stating a date-night and would like special indoor booth or table and that there is a nut & peanut allergy. We then were brought to our table in the middle of the dining room. Unfortunately the lighting as well was so bright, like a cafeteria, no mood was possible. There are cool table lamps so not really a need for bright overhead lighting. To boot there was a wedding rehearsal dinner in the private dining room that sounded more like a Bachelorette party! The doors wide open, mind you and even staff trying to close them they could not fully close. Then party goers kept opening to leave anyway. Then the food. The waitress came out and proceeded to tell us the prime rib, that is available on Thursday's, is not available as well as the prime Tomahawk steak. We decided on the the fresh farm pork chop and asked for medium rare. My wife went with the seared Ahi that stated "caught yesterday". Also asked about the cauliflower fondue and asked if it was pureed and she said yes. We also asked if they served bread and she said she didn't believe so but would go ask, never saw her for 40 minutes when the food finally came. A long wait for dinner. Unfortunately what came out was a medium well cooked pork chop. Cauliflower that was not pureed but just chunks in cheese sauce. My wife's "fresh" seared ahi was definitely dense as if it was previously frozen. Always can tell them Ahi is fresh or frozen. Warm inside also so ends up tasting like tunafish from th

I was very excited to visit the new venture by Richard Blaise. I was aware that it was a New Year’s Day brunch but assumed it would be presented with the attention and care I have associated with him as I followed his career. I want to start by saying that the restaurant is a lovely space with sweeping views of the golf course and the surrounding mountains. The service was attentive and excellent. I was very disappointed in the quality and presentation of the menu. It felt like hotel food presented under the name of the restaurant and if this was the case it should have been clearly noted when you made the reservation. Items such as the crab noted on the menu were not presented. Other dishes such as the cauliflower were was listed as prepared lemon roasted with Z’Atar spice was a cauliflower gratin which was a watery stew of cheese sauce. The Jidori chicken was supposed to have pimento cheese and hot honey which was absent. The waffles were also MIA. I am sad to say that the hash brown under the chicken was the star of the meal, and you can get this at Arby’s pretty consistently. Once again the service was lovely, the Pistachio Old fashioned and the Jail Break (a take on a Rusty Nail) were light and tasty, however the food was astonishingly mediocre. Buffets can be a delight but sadly this one was as disappointing as the Oregon versus Ohio state game I rushed home to watch. Richard I hope this review is available to you and you have the opportunity to discuss with Indian Wells as they represent your food and vision and if this is not your menu you make sure they do not market it as such. I have had better meals at conferences sadly.
