The Spirit of the Jacaranda Tree
The Jacaranda tree was transplanted to Mexico by Japanese immigrants in the 20th century. It is a fitting
inspiration for this teppanyaki restaurant, which will merge classic Japanese and Southeast Asian
techniques with local ingredients and styles. Kengai is a new interpretation of a high-energy teppanyaki
experience, well-adapted for Tulum.

Food was all very good - kids menu also very good (udon was a but too small, but the chicken was very good). Service was excellent.

Over all the food was good . I ordered chicken tikka masala .. thinking it will be good but I was so wrong . The tikka masala was awful … they added chicken to Campbell tomato soup .. come on .. u can make a little bit of an effort .. I understand u can’t expect it to be authentic .. but u have to nail the flavors .. if you have it on your menu ..
