   I was really happy to have the experience at Kanu. The decor is warm and inviting. We had the brussels sprouts, squash, salad, and the smash burgers. The french fries that came with the burgers were very good. Everybody liked their food and I will be very happy to go back. Our waitress was attentive and did not rush us.

   From the time we walked in the space looked a bit shabby. We booked a rooftop igloo expecting excellent ambiance. On the way up the stairs we were greeted by an AC unit with the decorative cover peeling off. Once we made it to the rooftop, the igloo was very cold. We asked twice for the heater to be turned up, and once for an extra blanket and both requests fell on deaf ears. The service was substandard with long wait times between seeing the server and receiving our drinks, and meals respectively. Drinks were okay, but wine selection was lacking. One in the party wished to have champagne and the server simply said “we don’t have that” before moving on. They were out of the beer a few in our party wanted and seemed to not really care about that too much. Then came the food. I ordered the scallops which came out rubbery, clearly overcooked, and extremely over-seasoned for such a rich shellfish. It certainly did not shine. The risotto was slimy, and relatively flavorless. The pizza my wife and sister in law ordered was of a white mushroom variety - a special on the menu. It was profoundly greasy. The pasta’s cream sauce was also heavily oiled, and detracted from the creamy composure. There were good reviews of the burger and the Carne Pizza. More complaints were had when it came to the pork which was reportedly extremely salty as well; with sides that matched the risotto - underwhelming. Overall, substandard ambiance, service, food and beverages. We have been to Kanu several times; usually at the request of someone else in our party. Next time I think we will try and leverage everyone to another restaurant which can meet expectations; or just skip on the meal altogether if Kanu is the selected option.

   The overall ambience of the rooftop igloo was nice. However, it was 20 degrees out, the heat was on low with no way to turn it up and the waiter kept came in leaving the door unzipped and wide open so it was freezing, although he brought extra blankets for the experience. The waiter was scarce and when he did come in kept forgetting things we had asked for long before. The food was overpriced for what it was and the menu had very limited options. I have been to Kanù before with the same group and it was much better in the past.

   Food and service was excellent. The restaurant called me Friday night wanting to know if I would like to have a Birthday card for my wife seeing it was her birthday and I said yes. I never did see the card. I was disappointed on that account.

   I made an early reservation of 4 o’clock. When I arrived, they placed me and my wife in front of the big open window looking in at the kitchen and food preparing area. This was not what I expected for a nice evening dining. When I ask for a different table, they said they were gonna be crowded, but they would try. They did move me to a much nicer location. My second disappointment was when I ordered the steak that I came for, I was told that this nice restaurant was completely out of steaks, so our selection of food was very limited. Overall, this was not what I expected from what was supposed to be an upscale restaurant.

   Kanu is an amazing experience their service is top notch and their cook go above and beyond to make your food so delicious. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a fancier dinner night! You won’t be disappointed

   My husband and I wanted to celebrate my birthday with a dinner out. This was very different than all other local restaurants and did not disappoint. We will be returning!

   Our server was either very new or didn’t seem to care. We never received our drinks until after our app arrived which was over 15 minutes. Then the main course. My steak was fantastic but my wife’s scallops were WAY over seasoned with salt. Overall I don’t feel like a return trip will be worth it.

    Our waitress was extremely disorganized and slow. We were on the rooftop which I get takes a bit longer but everyone’s food was cold and the drinks also took a long time to arrive
