   David was the absolute BEST! He was the ultimate professional but NOT stuffy waiter he made us smile every time he came to our table.. our food was fantastic! THANK YOU DAVID upon our return we look forward to seeing you again!!! 🤓

   Went to the "D" after running some errands at the mall. It was buzzing and I notice it gets busier earlier here, a continued testament to the good ship that's being run here. Until she decides we can't sit in her area again, we wanted Kaitlyn as our server, and she was luckily stationed on the side of the room I like. So we waited at the bar until a table opened up. I notice familiar faces at the bar and glad they are retaining good bartender staff there. Seated and ordered an appetizer of crab claws. These come in a bowl of spicy oil and are tasty and fragrant. I prefer my crab claws sauteed without the accompanying liquids, but these are good. I can't do these every time however. We ordered the Filet and the Delmonico. Steaks came out wonderfully. A side loaded potato for my companion and a side of fries for me. Kaylee, the GM, and I, have had several chats about fries, and when delivered, the gentleman who ran the food said that Kaylee had picked out the best fries which I laughed heartily at the gesture :). Nice touch. The Caesar salads were like they always are. Plenty of that yummy dressing, plenty of grated cheese, and at the end of the meal there was not one morsel left in either bowl. As the place got busier, the servers were buzzing around like a swarm of bees. Kaitlyn is the funniest, wittiest person I've come across in a while and she did not miss a beat with our table and I am sure the same was the norm at her other tables. She is a great example of the level of service there regardless of whose station you are seated in. Had several glasses of a good Barolo, a change for me, as I am usually a Cab or Pinot guy, and my mate had the Malbec, which I also like here. Dessert was, yes, the apple cobbler with that huge mound of ice cream. We were having a blast and really enjoying ourselves and stayed a little longer than we should, but we were never rushed. I as you know love this place and continue to dine here as often as I can.

   Our Anniversary reservation was for Sat. March 29 at 5:00pm. We were seated at a table after requesting a booth thinking that our reservation was early enough to be seated in a booth however after waiting 15 min. we were seated at a table. Unfortunately we asked to be moved from the table to another location because the a/c was blowing down on us. The customers next to us told us they were originally seated at that table and asked to be moved also because the a/c was blowing down on them. I would recommend that Joey D's take care of this issue. Unfortunately for us we had a new waiter that was not up to speed on some things that we asked and had to ask other waiters what to do. For instance, I asked if I could substitute my salad for a soup and he had to check with someone then said no. I would have expected that I could substitute the salad for an upcharge but that was not the case. My husband ordered the she-crab soup, that in the past was outstanding, but this time was not hot and so-so. He also ordered the filet and it was under cooked. My ribeye was very hard to cut (fatty) and we were not given steak knifes for the steaks. In the past steak knives were given. Our waiter was trying his best but was not aware of anything we were asking therefore had to ask other waiters. My husband ordered a beer at the bar and paid at the bar but in the end that beer was added to the bill and we had to point it out to him for it to be removed. Lastly we had a Joey D's coupon that took 15 minutes to determine what we owed with the help of another waiter because our waiter did not know how to calculate our bill. All in all our experience at Joey D's was fair at best and not as we expected. One last thing, on open table it asks if we are celebrating a special occasion and I said our anniversary but our waiter never acknowledged it, why ask?
